[2.0 WIP] The Railgun: Chin Sol Point Blank Pyre Ice Shot [NSFHC] (WIP)

Stumbled across this, Am currently lv 65 in the 1month league and I have to say I am enjoying it emencially. Got luck and found an Ex so I'm hunting around for a Carcass Jack, The radius on the ice blast is insane with just Hyrr and a lv 15 Inc AOE.

im using also rat's nest and maligaro's gloves, what do you think about doryani's invitation belt? is it usefull? even if i swap my belt for doryani's i still have cap res.

unfortunately the survivability of this build is extremely bad ive tried it with a ranger.

I felt like this build is a bit overcomplicated. So I decided to get rid of the crit (it can be respeced back to crit, i just like the non-crit version) and damage conversions and adapted it a bit to HC. here's my final tree

I'm using HoA, HoI, Purity of Ice. Although tooltip damage is a bit less than with hatred, HoA takes care of the AOE. You just need to target one mob, rest of the pack dies from the HoA burn. for a single target i can switch to hatred.
with Survivalist, Vaal Pact, LL and purity of cold reflect is not a problem at all.

lvl 75 yet, was a lot of fun to play this weekend during the all mods event :)

with a new Hypotermia support gem and new frenzy charges, this build will be OPieOP in 2.0.0 :)

Just wanted to give my experience running the exact guide the OP posted. As I said above I have been enjoying it a lot.

I got my hands on a carcass jack and I rolled plus arrow to a hyrri's bite I crafted which helps a lot. Due to the nature of the build (all the point blank stuff) It is very rip-y for this reason. You know your maximum dmg potential is getting that first arrow off into the face of a mob so it will melt everything behind it, which it does and does it well but I find often there are circumstances when the mob can get one up on you resulting in death very quickly in higher maps.

I also got my hands on a very well rolled drillneck. I tried running the build with only one arrow and using the AOE only from C-jack, but the reduced size in AOE overall felt like a net negative even though the damage potential with drill neck and a socket pierce gem is much higher then Hyrris. I think if I had a 6 link weapon I would run drillneck and make up for the AOE with the gem.

currently my 5 link is ice shot-added fire- wep ele dmg- ince phys dmg - life leech, the tool tip is at 15K. I am only running leech cause I ran out of chroms. Trying to get the right 3 off colors on the right sockets in a 5 link is tough. I was running an added cold dmg which bumped things up to around 16K, and drill neck with pierce was at 18, all theses tool tips are with a lv 19 hatered and HoA. On the whole though the build is pretty cheap and very strong in relation to the items it takes to get it there, with the negatives of the rippiness and being slow on single targets. I would give it 8/10, would roll again.

I haven't taken Arrow dancing since I don't think the malus can be viable with this specific build.

I haven't taken Cold hearted calculations (number 12 on your so useful chart) since I do not understand why you took it at all (mana regen needed that much ?).

And there is one more point needed to reach the power charge +1, so the build lost 4% life.


Of course, it is very raw : I have not included any slot for jewels (but as I have none good right now...).




Edit : Oh, I forgot, the addition of all needed gems in vendors makes it very possible to start a new league with a shadow now. You'll get all needed gems in act 4 at worst.

Hi guys, just a quick heads up: I will update this build to 2.0.0 but I need some more time. I plan to have everything carved out by end of July (have other real life stuff to do in the meantime). Thanks Pingouinmalin for some early suggestions, I will review them when the time comes.

As a quick update strat:
- I will drop Herald of Thunder
- Instead of Mind Drinker I will pick Spirit Void

Item choices stay the same. I do not yet plan on adding a specific jewel but will decide on one once I'm more familiar with the jewel affixes and the unique jewel options...

If you have time for a quick question : I just got a 5-link armor (a low level one, but for 1 transmutation at a vendor...yeah me !) and I was reading your guide about gems.

No point blank gem ? I would have guessed this would synergize so much with the rest of the build it was an automatic inclusion... I suppose you did your maths, but could you explain ?
