Nice book you wrote there, bro.
Thanks. I like to call it "constructive feedback". Note the lack of "TL;DR". ;)

I just honestly don't get why some guys are angry about this. Maybe they don't get enough money and they want the items, or maybe they feel fine thinking that the guys giving away big money are all insane. Who knows.
Maybe when they in real life see big cars, expensive clothes, awesome houses they feel the same. Or —even worst— if they watch someone giving a BIG gratuity after a dinner to the barman because they like the way the barman did and his manners, maybe they get mad or anything.
I just can't understand some people.
I see supporter packs like a way to DONATE to developers and give thanks for the game. It doesnt even matter if we receive items or effects or dont receive anything at all, it's just a decision and microtransactions or T-shirts are just a plus. Some guys just dont get it.
PoE is —for some guys like me— the best game ever made, or close to. And 100% free. For others it's just a good game and they all want to help developers with that.
Sadly I don't have a lot of money nowadays, I just supported them years ago because at that time I feel like I HAD to. And I will do again when I feel I can. I look at some effects, some supporter packs, some microtransactions and they are expensive as hell, I like them all but they are kinda prohibitive for me! But I don't get angry and start insulting the people that bought them or make them, the same way I don't get mad when I see a man with a car I can not afford, I just not insult the car maker or the car driver. I just live with that, it's real life. I would like to buy all the packs, all the MTX, but I accept that I can't and move on, and I just contribute whenever I can, the same way I just buy a cheap car or modest clothes.
All in all, I think some people are really ungrateful. Really, really ungrateful. Even if they never through out a penny, they should give big thanks to GGG for making a 100% FREE game for them, and also say big THANKS to all those big big supporters and stop insulting them or pretend they're mad. Because of their amazing support, you guys can play this game for free. So please stop being ungrateful, not anymore. It's absurd. I'm very thankful to all of them, they get my eternal gratitude indeed. This game is free and nobody is forcing anyone and even then some guys through out even —literally— thousands of dollars.
I just can't understand some guys. But this is real life, sadly.
Sorry for my bad English, and thanks again GGG for an awesome game, and all of you true supporters.
Also thanks to the guys playing the game that want to donate but can't afford it, or even the guys that —as long and don't complain— dont want to donate and are playing for free entirely. All of us form a community and the game is alive thanks to all of us at the end.
Have a nice day.
The way I see it it's that maybe the people that gets angry about some other people that buys the supporter packs, specially the more expensive ones, is that they know people (or maybe even are themselves?) that need money for more important things than entertainment, for example food or school payments for their children, monthly rent, etc. because, as you probably know, in real life there are many unjust life situations, and when these people see these different realities they feel the injustice of our society that we live in.
But, if I would have to guess, these kind of people that I was describing, usually works very hard from very early to very late and can't even afford time to spend in game forums, playing games, or even in some cases, to spend time with their children every day ...
From my point of view, every hard work should be rewarded and GGG is doing an excellent job so far, so they deserve a lot of our support. They have created one of the best quality forms of entertainment in years making this game. I wish I could support them more, but I think also, and this is just my personal opinion, that there is a line. What do you do if you have $1000 to give as support to others and see around you many people that need economic help? I'd try first to see if with that money I can help other people who need it more than GGG for example.
But, in any case, being angry with others doesn't solve anything I think, and instead you could try to learn by understanding all kinds of situations and people perspectives.
Sorry, I know my English is far from good.

I can definitely see where you're coming from, at the same time the rather small cost of one of the packs compared to the amount of entertainment PoE has given me over the years is far more than worth the cost (heck, certainly a lot less than what the same number of movie tickets for this many hours of entertainment would cost).

Why is everyone seeming to forget, or maybe they were not around for it...
GGG sold beta keys with "early access packs" before, and this is no different... So "losing integrity" as one poster said? I think not.
This is the same business model they have had for a long time. The more people that get in the beta by any means, even if they don't manually report a single thing, the better.
Tax the servers and see what they are made of... GGG will be collecting stats. That way you same ppl flying off your diaper seats about everything now can be happy with a smoother launch compared to if only a few ppl got in.
Now on to some feedback for the MTX: I feel that the Shades would have been better suited as pets, or skins for the Golems etc. instead of just random pop ups now and again. Kind of loses the impact and could get tiring seeing tons of these in town areas pop up randomly all the time. Wep fx are decent. I was expecting this to go a bit differently.
Thx for all the hard work!

I think a Story is in order
"Two Years ago Jeff spent money ,out of his own pocket, to build a swimming pool for his local community. He received some financial support from members of the community who thought it was a great idea. Once he opened the pool he allowed everyone to use the pool as much as they want for free. Jeff didn't want to charge anyone for the pool because he felt the pool should be available for everyone, so Jeff placed a tip jar in the door of the pool and people donated what they could. The tip jar paid for lifeguards, insurance, water and general maintenance of the pool.
Two years later Jeff decided the pool needed a change so he decided to build sauna, and a steam room, and a diving pool and some other features. Jeff set about building his improvements, after a while People began to ask Jeff exactly what he was building so he told then about his plans and they were excited.
Jeff built all the core components of his new facility but he still had some issues. Should the Sauna be 70,80 or 90 Degrees?. How much steam does a steam room need? What height should the diving board be? Jeff new what he liked but he knew that the community might have different ideas about how his facility should be setup.
So Jeff decided to invite some of the people who helped him build the pool 2 years ago to test his new facility. He listened to their criticism and made changes accordingly.
Now some of the patrons of Jeffs pool became angry,
"Why do those guys get to use the Sauna and we don't", they asked
"Well they helped me build the original pool two years ago, so I thought they might have some interesting thoughts on the new facility", Jeff replied
"Well that's not fair" they cried ,"I thought this was supposed to be a free pool for everyone".
"Oh don't worry its still free and all of the facilities will be available to everyone once were finished. Besides, to be honest, I don't think anyone would even enjoy the facility at this stage its not even finished, the walls aren't painted, there's no ladder on the diving board and the Sauna doesn't even have the seats installed" said Jeff
"But some of us really, really like what your doing and we want to see it" They said, vexed.
"Well ok the facility isn't ready for me to open it to the entire town. So how about everyone who is interested signs this list and I'll will pick people randomly. It will only be a few at first but as the facility nears completion I'll let more people in" said Jeff.
The towns folk sulked, but accepted Jeff's idea.
Now many of the people in the town contacted Jeff and offered to help him with the new facility, both with money and with Labor. Jeff thought for a moment and said "Well the facility is progressing well and a need to see if we can handle the increased Load. I mean you guys can wait a few weeks if you want but if you guys wanna donate 30 bucks to test the facility right now, Im ok with that"
Some members of the community got angry, "OMG this is supposed to be a free Pool Jeff, a FREE POOL!!!!!!, and your letting people pay to use it. That is so in ethical" They sobbed.
Jeff was bemused "I mean People can make a donation to the Upkeep of the pool and sample the unfinished facility if they want. but there's a perfectly functional finished pool that you can use for free right now, it comes fully equipped with slides and pool noodles and you can use it as much as you want. And besides I'm still picking people at random from the list of people who said they were interested, in-fact I'm picking more people from that list than ever before"
"Its just not Fair", they repeated, "How are the rest of us supposed to get good lockers when the new facility opens, all those rich guys who paid to get in will be able to take all the good spots"
"Well actually they wont, because before I open the new facility I'm going to clear out the entire place, so everyone will have the same chance to claim whatever lockers they like" Jeff clarified. "Besides the people who get to test the facility early only get to see half of the facility there's still a wave pool, a lazy river and water cannons for everyone to experience for free when the facility opens"
Sadly Jeff realised that if you give people something for free they begin to take it for granted. The community became entitled and felt that they deserved early access to Jeff's. They forgot that its a rarity to get such a good pool without having to pay a single penny.
The end,
Now quit your whining
A nice parable indeed

This is why I tried to make it very clear where I'm coming from personally from the start. I by no means mean to suggest that others don't or shouldn't buy even the highest pack. Please, if you can, do so. GGG continues to deserve that level of support.
Many of my reasons for supporting as I did in the past are still present (those that aren't have nothing to do with GGG) and I hope that those coming to PoE now (or who are wealthy enough that they don't have to decide between supporting awesome, buying an occasional toy, or paying rent) choose to support GGG for much the same reasons.
But having passed some personal threshold, be it financial or psychological, I've begun focusing more on "the stuff" gained from supporting further weighed against where I can put my money elsewhere. From a cost/hour of entertainment perspective.. I think I'm good for a while. Others, not so much perhaps - you know who you are.. your turn.
I do still hold GGG at the pinnacle of awesome in terms of community involvement and keeping their word on contentious matters despite the hardships of doing so. Their ethical microtransaction model is second to none and years later still seems to command the highest of praise - at least from most people. It's a real shame most companies still try to make a quick buck with the CoC (or similar) model despite the gameplay-crippling decisions that accompany it but I do see some companies coming around slowly.
I just happen to disagree with or scratch my head with confusion at the odd thing from time to time. I can only hope that conveying how and why helps reduce the frequency of my raising an eyebrow going forward. And if not, PoE will still nevertheless likely continue to be awesome and generally well received - even by this nitpicky grumpypants (me, in case of confusion).
As a small aside, I learned something interesting several years ago (though I can't attest to it's global application). Overall income from lesser tiers far exceeds that from the highest. Though the top supporters are still very important and appreciated. In that sense, Axiom being so awesome at a generally accepted price point for a game is genious. But that's still not a good reason for those tiers above it to not be at least equally awesome - their lack of awesomeness being just my opinion - unless one would suggest that envy of their awesomeness would prevent a significant number of people from otherwise purchasing Axiom.
