How the Closed Beta is going so far

... some people should really use the time to get in therapy,
showing symptoms of a serious addiction here.
so, its the whiners that should get a screening ^^

from that point of view i am not sure if all that anger in here is good or bad advertisement for the game.

i too love the game and cannot wait to get my key, but that ?

dear sir its not about any sense of entitlement but i never saw a closed beta being streamed for cheap marketing purposes, every company when does a close beta test its closed no info is shared, they could've invited x number of players and do there close beta and f***** realease the expansion when is ready in the mean time just do whatever bullshit league like in the last 6 months.

With the popularity of streamers growing, the use of them for cost efficient marketing is a smart move. That's just smart economics. Bottom line, GGG is a company that needs to make money to survive.

I agree for games in development, a CB usually comes with a temporary NDA. This is a totally different scenario. Details/combat mechanics of the game are not changing, short of the addition of some new lore/encounters....there's nothing to 'nondisclose' IMO.

Inviting X number of players for the testing is exactly what they are doing? It won't be released before they feel it's ready.

Publicizing the CB shows GGG's commitment to transparency. Had they kept silent on CB, word still would have leaked...and players still would have cried foul.

Is it really that hard to understand that GGG needs freshly new players too who never ever played POE before?

I have a few questions I would like to know if possible.


1.) I keep reading/hearing about the beta forums. Do you have to be in the beta to get access to them? Obviously there is no need to post if you are not in the beta but I would love to read what the lucky guys that have gotten in have been saying. It is possible I am just blind and don't know where they are.


2.) To sign up for the beta you had to manually go to the page and click "sign me up"
How many people/accounts did this? To be honest I LOVE the beta countdown timer. I am kind of surprised at all the negative feedback about it. I mean obviously we all want to get into the beta, but being able to see who exactly was invited is pretty cool and with a 5 minute timer I feel like the "next" lucker is going to be me. I anxiously check every morning I wake up and every day I get home from work and when I am on the PC I feel like I check every 15-20 minutes. I kinda like the process!

However I am very curious about what the total "chances" are I guess. Like I understand the reality that I probably won't get a beta key I always seem to have bad luck with "winning" stuff. However a general ballpark would be cool. How many people signed up for the beta? Was it 10,000? 50,000? 200,000? A million?


3.) My last question goes out to the community as well I guess. I don't have a HUGE amount of time to watch streams but I do watch ziggy and pohx here or there when im free. Reddit helps a little but is there a place or site or something that has a bunch of the info on it that people have found out so far?

Ziggy D has a spreadsheet with some info on it but there is so much info in the expansion im wondering if another site or something has a compilation of the info. Like just the new passive tree that I could go through and read the skills and such would keep me busy for hours!

Anyway thanks to GGG for all their hard work and effort. I can't wait to hear/see/experience all the stuff coming.

Get me in the damn beta already, not only no lifers deserve to try out beta you know, ive been playing for 2 years but i never had the time to play too hardcore cuz im short on time, so please give a fair chance for everyone :)

Well mister, then you obviously saw very little. Just this month I saw closed betas of Killing Floor 2, World of Warships and Rainbow Six: Siege streamed freely on twitch by multiple streamers. Funny thing is, nobody was bitching about it and they gave away less keys than GGG intends to.

I just not understand why 70% of news players com now and no before.

I know GGG need news player im not stupid.

But this account is just bot or multi account, not new player why thisx account have 0 character in 2 day dont test game is 1.3 version?.... And this i dont understand why bot ruin chance of other players.

I totaly care if i dont play beta.

It's now getting to the point that I'm May leave poe altogether I have been playing for almost 3 years and put a lot of time in this game and being treated like this is dumb... I don't know y they would do this to there fan base... I really disagree with the way they r handleing this... And letting the beta be streamed is bs just ruining for everyone good job ggg
