Saw this build and liked what i saw :) so i want to try it out.
But i am in doubt that its possible with the last patch ? is it still valid ?

Secondly i have a lvl 69 templar and a higher scion, and was thinking of respec into this build here but im in doubt regarding gems for the build. Not sure i have the needed gems and if so of the needed level.
So would you recommend to start a new char and just level up ? or would respec be feasible?

I played this build in 1.3, and I have to say, amazing build. Great ideas, cheap, tanky.

After 2.0 I've experimented with some things due to the changes and found success, so if this helps anyone I'll be pretty happy.

Obviously don't take eldritch battery.

I went and dug out my old moonsorrow from my stash for a wand since the life leech master mod is terrible now, it's not ideal but it was a damage boost from my old wand. If you have more money go for a better rare but this is probably the best bang for your buck.

To replace that life leech, you need to roll 3b1r (kind of a pain I know) on your lightning coil and put your curse on hit setup in there. Then we take the notable that lets us have 2 curses on enemies and put warlord's mark in there in place of reduced mana (because it doesn't affect heralds anymore). Congrats, you now have 2% leech and a way to gain endurance charges without the enduring cry CWDT combo.

For the CWDT, take out the enduring cry, we don't need that anymore with warlord's mark, then put in an arctic breath and greater multiple projectiles. You lose the increased duration cause it's 4L which kind of sucks, but now you can kite even big packs around and can still sort of get through elemental equilibrium without herald of ice.

Now then, I went ahead and replaced my geofri's crest with an Alpha's Howl to put my auras in. I put the 4L arc into my gloves instead. Alpha's Howls are dirt cheap now compared to before since no one can fill it with 4 auras. We're going to put purity of lightning arctic armor and our vaal haste vaal grace into it (we lose increased duration but such is life).

With vaal haste vaal grace gone from saffel's frame, I recoloured it to 3blue and put chaos golem minion life minion res in it, to take advantage of OP golems. You can run whichever golem you want here, mostly personal preference I think.

Overall the build is a little bit more expensive than before (like 15 chaos more from Alpha's howl and Moonsorrow, plus whatever chromatics you spend rolling 3 off colours on lightning coil), and we're a little less survivable before the warlord's marks proc, but now we can't be frozen, have more life leech than before in a patch where most people can't life leech, have better auras (lost herald of ice though), and have a nice golem. I'd call that a win.
