Preview of Upcoming UI/QOL Improvements

I know GGG likes to tease, and they certainly have done so in the past, but right I don't think that or showing off little crumbs of improvements is a good way to go right now. Don't misunderstand me, I am very glad for what is seen here, but the more cynical side of me wants to say that it took them far too long to finally have features that D2 had for years already (names beneath player map icons). I am not without confidence when I saw that these are certainly only a few of what GGG likely has lined up, but GGG needs to not save the 'big guns' for later at this point. I have a feeling that Act IV is going to be a bit 'make-or-break' for a decent amount of people and showing off things like this isn't exactly filling them with some of the confidence I have.

Again, don't take this as me not being grateful for what we're getting...certainly am and know it's likely been hell-on-wheels for the team with the big reveal coming soon. However, there needs to be at least one or big features being shown (IMHO) that will get people talking positive instead of so many jaded and some might argue justifiable comments going on here.

+1

Could not have said it better. I do understand feeding this tiny bits of information from the dev's point of view but especially the clock and the names are not worth to board the hype train.

yeah yeah, but what is this "HYPE" shit what ppl wroten here, it just a clock, nothing special !!!

When they do that same what is on diablo's, if uniq drop to u, u see it on the map... ? too hard to do that? So many time found accidently uniq from map. Don rly want even know how many times uniq stay on ground cause dont fucking know it drop..

And other little things what help grinding, that clock dont help..

If you don't have time commitments, goody for you, but I have a schedule to keep, and alt-tabbing out of the game constantly detracts from the experience greatly. With an in-game clock, the only times I will alt-tab are to check the wiki (or poe.trade). It's a huge QoL improvement for some of us. If it's not relevant to you, stop shitting on it anyway. Any changes to parties are not relevant to me, but I don't complain about them. I'm willing to recognize that GGG is listening to their player base even if I'm not always the one that defines "their playerbase".

Uniques make a huge, obvious noise. If you're deaf, I'm sorry, but if you're just playing with the sound off, that's stupid.

Also, many currency items and map drops are more important than most uniques (also identifiable by sound), that it seems difficult to make all of those deaf-friendly without completely cluttering the map....

Will mostly get lost in the sea of comments but a further suggestion onto this is to colour the names on the right the same as on the map, would make for a quick visual reference.
HaHaHa - YES!

You call that QoL improvements? Those are useless. What use do I have for an ingame clock? I have plenty of clocks around me. What use do I have for party map names when I play solo? None.

This is useless work done, time and effort of GGG's manpower gone to waste. Where are the performance improvements? Where is the option to disable particle and weather effects? Where is the option to customise the size and placement of the FPS/latency monitoring graphs? Where are the improvements for distinguishing important drops during play? Those are the things that improve QoL, not these basically useless "features".

GGG has always had the bad habit of trickle-feeding the community the unimportant aspects of their upcoming work, but I don't think I've ever felt THIS insulted before. It's a good thing that I've been putting off writing an article/review of the game yet. I was hoping that I'll have a few good things to write about Act 4 and maybe kindle new interest in the game, but as it is, I think I'll be more inclined to showcase PoE negatively. And I am glad I am too poor to afford supporter packs, because I'd be mightily disappointed right now if I had put money into this game.

Edit: if you're going to quote me, read this:

A small edit because I predict my post might be targeted by the hype sheep: I love the game and I still play it every day, unlike most of you who probably have been playing other things for the last two months, crying about the duration of temp leagues and slow development of act 4. I'm just disappointed by GGG's approach towards the community as of late. It reminds me too much of other companies that eventually gave up on communication completely, made a P2W cash shop and abandoned development.

There is no Hype in me but I admit they do good thing with minimap improvement especialy. That is crucial for maitaning XP efficient party. To get rid of soloers and avoid confussion-all follow map host. Sad ggg doing such obvious thing many years after initial game realese. This changes will also need adjustments for sure. For example size of fonts can be too big and couse clusters, maybe there should be option to partialy dissable names(however map's host colour should be always different).

PS: And sudenly many 'dont give damn about you' rushers call them selfs solo players(not quoted dude, just in general). From now on you will solo for sure, no doubt.^^

The only QOL I want is for currency items to stack properly when moving from inventory to stash.

It's silly having a stack of 19 Alts and then another 37 stacks of 1 alt each. :S

clock hype!, hope they don't nerf it

Expectation: Clock is set back 10 minutes when you die.

;-)
Personally im not bothered about any of these qol updates. I'm surrounded by clocks in my games room and when i party up its usually in 78 dom parties so mostly everyone knows what is going on, but im definatley interested to see what the rest of these qol improvements would be.

Personally i would like to see
- dps for zombies, spectres and srs
- performance optimization
- loot filter with plenty of filters (ie rare rings only, uniques only currency only or whatever combination you want
-color blind mode
- more zoom

lolz to the trolls who are crying already cause they dont understand the concept of releasing titbits of info over a period of time... i would wager that these people have never been taught patience or even understand what it means.

ty gl hf :)
