Developer Questions and Answers

Hello! My questions is about crafting. Will new ideas be consider for crafting? Such as having a rare armour like astral plate and implementing a crafting idea like "Spend life instead of mana for supported skills".

Another question is about using a vaal gem. For a certain cost like 5 vaal orbs will we be able to craft what we want? example like add 1 curse to your glove. I honestly felt like it was to random to vaal and its sad not getting what we wanted. But for a higher cost maybe its rationally possible?

My third question i was wondering would you guys consider the idea of crafting on unique items. I understand most of the items are unique and it like that for a reason. but wouldn't be more unique in some ways? This way it makes items that aren't useful before.. would be useful now. Like sadima's touch being able to craft life leech on it.

Well those are my questions thank you for listening, Looking forward to act 4.

feel free to pm if you want to trade :)
Do you consider the actual version of the skill tree the "final" one? If not , what about the 1.4 one?
"Metas rotate all the time, eventually the developers will buff melee"
PoE 2013-2018
Desync being a part of this game , i would like to know if you are planning to balance the damage of the shield chargers , rhoas and remove the one shot mechanics (by reducing the damage) such the touch of god and vaal smash from the game. While i like the game to have one shot mechanics in PoE many times when your are trying to avoid it you are desynced and dead and this is a huge problem for melee HC players.

Are you planning to implement a new trade system? I would like to suggest you to take a look at MU online which they have a town like a marketplace for trading system which allows you to advertise your items. Clicking on the character (seller) a window is open and you see what the seller has to offer with b/o prices.

Are you planning to improve the gameplay? For example when you are dealing damage to allow player cast enduring cry , immortal call , blood rage , totems , traps/mines etc? I think it will improve the gameplay a lot instead of dps - stop - cast - run - dps.

Are you planning to balance the game in general? Devourers , jumping frogs , rhoas (shield chargers and one shot mechanics as i mentioned above). Ive seen players in HC with 6k life armor based characters getting one shot by white devourers and jumping frogs including me.

Are you planning to improve Armor as defensive mechanic to be in line with ev/dodge? because at the current state ev/dodge are way far more effective than armor.

Are you planning to make Grace/Determination to have 40% mana reservation like vitality? nerfing defenses in the latest patch you forced us to go full dps and these auras became second choise of use.

Are you planning to create more boss fights with special loot like atziri?

Why was Vorici, specifically his Artisan's Bench and its offerings, chosen to be implemented as a means to improving socket crafting instead of making modifications to how socket crafting Orbs function in relation to items?

The musical track for The Crypt/Catacombs was recently changed. Will we get to hear the original track again, but in a different location?

For a long time now, individual items that have satisfied multiple vendor recipes have only paid out currency for the highest value vendor recipe satisfied while disregarding all others. Are there any plans to modify the way in which the vendor recipe system awards currencies for individual items that satisfy multiple vendor recipes?

Thank you for listening, and thank you for the Dev Q&A!
TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.
Did you and the rest of the team enjoy the biscuits that I made for you a couple of month's back?
They were my first attempt at that kind of biscuit. Hopefully there were enough to go around.

Game wise, is there any likelihood of a unique item that sets you on fire? (such as a flask)
So that we can take advantage of the several new uniques that buff you if your on fire. (Mokou's Embrace)

I'd really really like that.
Any chance of us getting a in game auction house type system, so that I don't have to constantly spam trade chat or go to a non affiliate site to sell my wares?
Are there going to be any balance overhauls concerning the current strength of crit based chars

when we will get a south american gateway?

For the sake of reducing the necessity of BIS uniques, can we finally make equivalent nodes of every unique on the tree? Or do you want us to keep paying 120 exalts for certain pieces of gear?

When are we getting extra zoom levels? Or are you forcing us to buy 2 screens so we can take advantage that way?

Can we finally add a lootfilter?

How about that trading update from years ago you promised?

Will you allow us to turn off particles completely or are you forcing us to get an SSD?(it's one of both options, there is no third option). Because as it is now, you'd rather keep the game pretty and unplayable for a chunk of your userbase, rather than allow people to actually play.

GGG has been evading interaction with the community on these issues for quite a while now, should we just consider community interaction to be limited to bex telling us about pointless hideout of the week stuff?

Can you introduce a 1 chaos mod in zana's device that drops a mirrored version of the map we just run? Collecting maps and playing maps we don't like takes away our motivation to play.

Will the expansion finally have non map areas till lvl 80?

Can we get rid of the XP penalties in standard? Or do you wish to keep the pointless delay tactics?

I have many more questions if you'd like. Enjoy.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right.

So, elemental damage IMO is kinda boring and lacks depth atm. An easily attainable cap makes it 100% mandatory on all builds to max all res. Because it's flat increases with a hard cap, rather than having diminishing returns like most things in the game, it actually has increasing returns up to 75% and then suddenly zero return. I realise we're talking huge fundamental changes to game mechanics that can pretty much never be patched into the game now, but do you ever regret not running with something like a system where two 30% res would apply multiplicatively giving you 1-(0.7*0.7) = 51% res? Just as an example.

Also, will we ever see ele damage act as more of a counter system? For example certain bosses which are weak or really resistant to certain elements. Seems like you could reward cool things like multi-button builds, having a party with a good variety of damage types, being flexible with your damage types (maybe it would be worth carrying some damage conversion gems/uniques for certain bosses, or maybe getting even more creative like corrupting your item to have white slots so you can swap in different coloured ele damage support gems or auras?). At present some mobs do have extra ele resistance but does anybody actually care? With a few exceptions of tough bosses or annoying mobs like rhoas or devourers, usually you don't really care what your enemies base type is, just what their mods are. Feel like there's a lot more unexplored depth here.

TLDR: right now basically ele resistance isn't a decision at all, it's just a thing you always have to max. And ele damage all feels the same apart from their special effects - any ele damage type can deal with any enemy no problem. Will this ever change?
