if the mod is not on a weapon, then yes because non weapon located physical damage increase mods are global. like the belt and most uniques listed here. mind you that ether knives doesn't "shotgun" meaning you'd only hit a foe that is in your face with one projectile.
I can't believe this somehow fits, it's beautiful.

Wow. Strength casters (with Iron Will and Blood Magic), specifically those using physical damage spells (Knives, Bear Trap, Shockwave Totem) could absolutely abuse this.
