Actually it's a player-designed unique. I had no idea it was 'from' something. I just really liked the name.

So what happened to Kaom's Heart? Did it get removed after I whined about it every other day?

haha, yeah, I actually just wondered about that and checked if it was a supporter made item. It's no wonder the name Severian is taken.

I really enjoyed the series, though (parts 1 and 2 specifically), and although you could find reviews of it anywhere with a simple google search, I feel like I have to speak my part on it now. So here's my (probably) favorite few lines of the series:

The book is basically his diary/journal that he reads every morning to remember things. It was a very interesting read, just to see how the book handled something like that without becoming repetitive. I've heard that when Gene Wolfe is good, he's great, and when he's bad, he's horrible, so in that regard I was lucky to happen to pick up what is thought of as his two best works, lol.

...ANYWAY, Now I just have to think of a proper way to build around that item. It's such a shame it doesn't have Culling Strike :(

I think this might be a perfect ephemeral blade, I'm quite happy I got it.



Also, a few other uniques that I have stashed away.

How many do they plan on having on release? Hopefully we will have some wicked uniques at endgame like 30+40% ias and ton of op mods :)

Fun fact: earlier drafts of my sword did have Culling Strike. It suited 'her' personality but I figured at lower level it might be a waste. Now that I've seen how far I can take her, I'm a bit sad I let it go, but no matter.

I'll look into that series. I don't really read fantasy anymore (only just starting my dusty copy of Game of Thrones now!), but that sounds like a really intriguing protagonist.

own: I would like to believe that filling the unique roster is something GGG would endeavour to do before release. Every other ARPG has done so before release, after all...

As far as stated actually, the unique items are more designed to offer some special abilities over a short to medium time period in the game, than to serve as high-end-uber-items.

But, since they plan to implement at least one unique per base item type, there will also come a bunch of high level ones. (but again, from the concept above, I expect them to be somewhat special, but not -much- better than a near-perfect rare of the same base type)

Some uniques ARE pretty much uber endgame items (Astramentus, Kaom's Heart, Dream Fragments, Doedre's Damning, Blackgleam, Hrimnor's Resolve, Geofri's Crest)
