Is there any kind of time-delay attack similar to EA's splosion but utilizing weapon damage? You could land the initial hit with a real weapon then switch to that ridiculous staff for the damage bonus before it goes off.

Actually if that were possible I guess someone would have done it with a facebreaker swap already. Dang, my Johnny sense is going to be on the fritz for days over this one...

edit: actually, could you just shoot someone with a bow and switch to this thing before the arrow hits? It applies to "physical weapon damage" which an arrow certainly is. Compare to "unarmed melee damage" on a facebreaker which wouldn't work with such a switch. Timing would be tricky, but fun to see if it could be pulled off.

and lets say 300 dex, thats 1.25 x 1.3=1.625 speed

Are you calculating the physical dmg bonus that str gives to melee physical dmg? It seems like this weapon gives double the benefit of str.

No, but you could play high INT and swap this in for a much bigger EA explosion instead.

No thanks, still prefer swapping for dual redbeaks on my EA lowlifer... or I did until I hit Merc A2 anyway :<
