[1.3] [NO AWAKENING] The Typhoon ♦ Bow / High Block / Close Quarters / Non-Crit ♦
I really like the idea of this build, but i have a question. Would this build work with a scion, or would it be a big dps loss? Im asking cause i have a lvl 54 scion with a free respec.

" It can work as a shadow, ranger and scion (and even marauder if you want enough) but the scion has the worst starting passives in most people's opinion (and a marauder would miss out on a bunch of damage and be fairly inefficient, but possible.) Edit: and Duelist. Last edited by 7thFullMoon#2880 on Feb 1, 2015, 9:58:17 AM

very cool idea, i like the looks and a duelist using a bow. looks really fun.
as a criticism: what is the actual benefit of going for block? Suppose youre in a temp league and cant use legacy BoR, you'll end up with about 30block and 20ish spellblock (or more if rainbow+amulet). On the other hand, if you use a normal helmet, a good dps or defensive quiver, and just spec into Dodge+spelldodge, you'll have 40% dodge and 30% spelldodge, potentially 46 with atziris step. And with vaal grace, you have a cheap alternative to rumis, and vaal grace also lasts longer, so going block is strictly less effective than going for dodge i'd say. I appreciate the originality of your idea, dont get me wrong ! At the moment i just think going for dodge is more effective, unless there are other ways to get more block which i forgot? Maybe you can help me! RIP King of the Forest view-thread/1738625

" Since the point was to go non-crit, I needed BoR for the damage (or abyssus but I like being alive). In order not to waste the block and EC generation on block, I decided to combine it with rearguard. I know I can get more spell dodge other ways. Maybe a defensive quiver over RG + Acro/PAcro would be more effective but I quite like the unique setup without having to spend 5 points into the acro cluster. Cheers |

Added a Shrine Map Run.
Corrected some syntax and added to the Blood Magic Keystone Version that Rain of Arrows supported by Concentrated effect is an alternative. I've had someone message me over mana concerns. I couldn't see their gear over PMs, but I believe you cannot use Rain of Arrows with 2% Leech and such a small mana pool. The BM KS version has practically unlimited casting resources, so it is easily viable (and possibly stronger than TS). They never did tell me what skill they were using, but if they were using TS/SA I can only assume they had no leech on gear or were shooting blanks or single stray monsters too regularly. A mana flask is always possible to include, depending on the playstyle. Last edited by 7thFullMoon#2880 on Feb 12, 2015, 10:37:38 AM

Very well written! I'm using Rain of Arrows but the mana is a problem.
Once i get the Sniper node that will hopefully change |

" I can only sustain rain of arrows with the blood magic variant. I recently updated that section to reflect this better, so it might not have been there the first time you read it. I think 3 to 4% mana leech will go a long way to combat this and that it's definitely possible on mana. (I tried with 2% and almost sustained it) Glad you enjoyed the guide, cheers. |

I recently switched back to Tornado Shot, it just feels more fluid mana wise.
I like the playstyle with RoA more, once i get better phys gear it could work with 3-4% mana leech. I'm about to hit 85 soon, will then try if i can do Atziri. Could you explain why you pick up Ondars Guile? |
