This. Have u tried using Pyre? The build looks intruiging, and I just ripped, so need something new...
Also, I would suggest getting "Sniper" - 30% Projectile Damage and 10% Projectile Speed for 2 points is hard to beat.

I tried pyre, unfortunately it gives less dps than the AoF + cold to fire combination and you also lose a ring slot

But you lose a gem slot when using cold to fire. Not an issue if you have a 6L Pledge I guess :P
Anyway, I just rolled a char based on your build. It's Bloodlines, and I wanna be able to safely do Atziri, plus I found a RoF just before ripping so my plan is:

- use RoF + Purity of Fire to get high max fire res
- since no pledge, I will have to use echo and Pyre
- with high max resist and lower damage, I won't need VP
- more HP nodes for me, due to playing in HC
- best chest probably CoD

Yup, if youre shield you do have to use pyre since echo will give you more dps than aof+CTF without the echo on pledge.

Personally i wouldnt use rise of the pheonix, with vaal pact and purity of fire you will have no problems against reflect, to be extra safe you can also use a fire resist flask even tho its not really necessary, youll be a lot safer in general with instant leech, and losing the 2% regen is totally worth having VP. Note that you can still use life flasks while you have VP.

Chest as COD is the best option in my opinion, esp for hardcore if youre using wand + shield.

and the build you linked is for very high level, i made you one here for level 88 which should be easy to get, keeps the same life only it gets VP, and loses a bit of damage, honestly youll have more than enough damage for anything with it anyway like this:



With three dragons, doryanis invitation, CoD and pyre youll still get to 5.5k life with this build with decent life rolls on the rest of the gear, in combination with MoM and vaal pact it will be very tanky

Thanks for the elaborate reply! So, drop the new templar wheel eh? I wasn't sure what to drop in terms of DPS nodes, my tree was just including the many options heh.
RoF shield is just for Atziri - with PoF, and maybe Inner Force cluster I will get to 100% fire res with ruby flask. I can use a spell damage shield in "normal" maps.

About Vaal Pact - the 91 CI Phys Wander I just ripped had it, and it's great. But there I had a ton of fast-repelnishing ES, so VP had no downside. I'm gonna try and see where a 20% LL gem will get me, or maybe drop LL gem and run 2% leech from Catalyst/Invitation to get maximum damage from a 5L CoD. I'll just try it out :)

Yeah, drop it and go for it after level 88

yeah, rise is extremely good for atziri, her damage will be easy to tank with it

You dont need 20% quality on life leech gems, it deosnt add anything to VP, since life leech is instant with it the 20% qual is wasted basically, i only use a 20% gem cause thats the only leveled one i have.

Id personally go for doranis catalyse+invitation AND life leech gem, it will be very strong leech
