I socketed and linked it myself. Actually done about 6 of them now, trying to get a 6 link, selling them when I can each time (I see you messaged me about one!) Been pretty lucky on them, apart from the no 6 link, only one took loads of jewellers (at least 400) but they all linked pretty quick.
That ring was handed down for another char, mainly to fill in the needed mana leach. Really need one with phys damage and better resists and life, but that gets pricey! The magic find is nice though.
I relented and started using PCOC on my kinetic blast. You were right, gameplay is much smoother, charges up all the time and they are a huge amount of the DPS.
I'm still trying to tune my gearing until I can wear Atziri's Step - quite tricky to still get all the resists with none on my chest or my helm. Really could do with a bit more accuracy too - will get either the attack speed/accuracy or crit chance/accuracy nodes eventually (Although got a couple of other ones to get first) but still could do with a bit more flat from somewhere. Decent jewellery is expensive though!

I'm on about 10k dps KB with charges up, and 21k for Power Siphon.
I know - still need to re-roll the WED on the belt (Or just get another!)
I've 5 linked about 6 Daresso's now trying to get a 6l - but selling them on has started to get tricky, still got 3 stuck in my stash. Need to sell as out of currency!
Hey Carl, have you tried poachers mark instead of assassins? You can generate frenzy charges since your PCOC will give you the power charges. Also, whats your mana reserve at? I would think once you 6L your armor, your mana pool would be quite small due to running the three heralds and hatred. Let me know! =]
Jw, because we got Tempest Blast, do we have the chance to shock enemies or do we actually need "lightning damage" on a piece of equipment? =]
Poachers mark not a bad shout actually, hadn't really thought about changing up. I am struggling a bit with accuracy so it will help, and the life on hit helps too.
Would miss the crit damage/chance but to be honest it isn't that big a deal.
Might try levelling one up, give it a go.
Wish I had the slots spare to run a manual curse to be honest - especially for bosses/rares.
I don't have a huge amount of mana left - if I miss a shot or two I run out (Hence still running a mana flask)- but when I hit it leaches back plenty. I'm only running 2 heralds - not running HoA.
Guess I could totally drop the HoT setup, run HoA (Which scales better) and manually curse when needed.
How do you find your armor? I can get a 6s Defiance for 1ex and wondering if it would be worth it to get it and 5/6l it?
Or are there better body armor options for this build? I know OP mentioned Belly and LC.. opinions?

a) Purchase one flat out for 1.5/2ex
b) Purchase an unlinked, 1/2/3/4 socket for 2c (cheapest I found) and then socket and link it?
Obviously b "could" be cheaper, but knowing my luck with rng, it may cost me far more than 1.5/2ex in orbs.
Whatever chest you use is up to you. Personally I'd say:
Belly > Daresso > Light Coil > Carcass Jack.
But all the chests have advantages and disadvantages, depends what you want.
As for crafting a 5/6L, I always prefer to link myself rather than buy a 5L, because then you have a chance at a 6L.
You're usually best off buying a 6s chest and linking from there, or if you have a lot of Jewelers then buy a good roll base and 6s yourself. It all depends on what currency you have and how much the 6s chests are.
The cheapest way to get a 6L is to link chests and sell the 5Ls until you hit 6L. That's what Carlovski is doing, although it seems like the market has slowed down now so this may not be the best option anymore.

Finally got my 6l!
Not sure on my best links atm though. I've stopped at BBGGGR as getting low on chromes, so have to have WED in there. Basically not sure whether to put in pierce, and spec out of the pierce nodes or put faster attacks back in. I've had to take out crit damage because of the colours.
