You get 20% instead of 8%. My honest opinion, 12% lightning damage is not worth it. I would rather invest that passive to go further on my tree.

nice build. I am playing a similar arc build with my witch and was looking for something more defensive. Your combination with the three dragons and the resulting freeze on crit with arc might be exactly what I am looking for.

But I am wondering, how long your shocks are when you use the ring and Herald of Ice? As I understand it from the dragons description, your cold damage is now used to calculate the shock duration. Is the cold damage from Herald of Ice high enough to produce long enough shocks? Or any shocks at all against enemies with high HP (http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Shock)? Can you shock with the bonus cold damage on every attack or only with the explosions on a kill?

And I am thinking about the Fingers of Frost passive node. Might be interesting against enemies you cannot perma freeze. Have you already tried this?

I feel like I hit a brick wall with thise build; I die way too much and I feel survivability is kinda on the low side. Damage is good though.

just get something with health and resists. 5L with some stats is better than 6L with no stats.

You can make it work with a 5 link chest , i had 5 link for up to lvl 75
