Doing a variation of this build I'd like to share. More focus on defense and aoe.
Using Ball Lightning at the moment, used Tendrils before that and was getting 28k dps without conc effect. BL dps is at 4.6k without spell echo. Feels pretty tanky with MoM, AA and block and using HoT for cursing is awesome. My next 3 passive points will be spent on more crit.

" if you don't need vaal pact , why did you choose the path to it ? it seems like you wasted 12 points to get few things . You can pick Purity of Flesh nod (4 pt ) + 6 passive pure dmg near retribution nod ( 6 pt ) and u got 2 left to pick mana regen if u need or more helth . I also tested ball of lightning in my build , it can be good but i didn't like the mechanics |

" First of all links at what i use are at the main page ,the mana regen is from what you see in the passive tree + very little from items + most important Eldritch Battery pasive nod ( all energy shield goes in the mana ). " The original plan was to take the whole life wheel since I don't have much hp on gear. I might still do that. Also, I can't survive without that 80% mana regen. If you can find 33% life, +20 life and 80% mana regen for less than 12 pts, with an option for another 30% life, please tell me :) Your way would be better if I was using a hp chest instead of CoD. |
