They're a near 7% base crit chance 2H weapon. Which makes them the crit 2H weapon. The fact that they're also the "caster" 2H weapon is more or less completely disconnected from their stats.

The fact that (essentially) all staves are caster staves is s separate issue as well.

This is what you get for having no clear itemization goals.

The node could be changed to "while wielding a staff" and it would serve as a nice option for caster and melee crit builds that are willing to have RNG hose their itemization. If the cluster then becomes "must have" for casters you add competitive options to other weapons.
