Ice Shot: "cone behind" damages main target, too?

If I add a Concentrated Effect support gem to a Ice Shot skill, will I deal more damage to the main target?

Anyone tried this out?
As far as I can tell from my tests, the cone does Not damage the main target. So, main target take 60% physical and 40% cold (+ added elemental damage). Targets in the cone take all physical damage done to the main target but 100% converted to cold damage.
Turns out, the explosion cone from ice shot could hit the same monster as the arrow. This is a bug, and I've now fixed it for 1.3.0, so thanks for prompting me to check that code before posting.

Currently, the explosion excludes the targeted object, not the object hit by the arrow. This means if you target one monster, and the arrow hits a different one that's closer, the explosion cone cannot hit the targeted monster, but can hit the one the arrow impacted (in addition to that one taking damage from the arrow). In 1.3.0, it will correctly exclude the object hit by the arrow, regardless of what's targeted.
Don't break it's interaction with pierce!

How will this interact with Return Projectiles?
Don't get too hasty with your fix or you're going to break it more than you fix it. Make sure that you take everything into consideration.

does that mean it was the fault of this "bug" that ice shot deals insane elemental reflect damage to oneself and therefore still is barely used?

this with projectile weakness was INSANE. curse on hit + projweak + ice shot + gmp cleared better than 5link setups of comparable skills..

thanks for the fix. it shall bring Ice Shot in line with BA and LA

As I played 100% pierce ice shot for a long time i can not confirm this
the only thing that ice shot does better than the other skills is reflecting damage harder.
