Those who think they are computerwiz's lol-ing etc at the ppl that got hacked; shut the f up, you are not helping.

If you truly had some deep knowledge about computers you would know that there are million of ways to hack some passwords and I will totally laugh my ass off the day that these smartasses gets hacked...

anyway, so the only links I can recall clicking that could have anything to do with this is some skilltree-links, and forum search results.
and regarding keyloggers; I've only typed my password ones the first time I registered to the site and the first time I logged in to the game.
Then I used the 'remember me' -thingy, if the problem can have something to do with that?
Another victim that just got all there curreny and tps taken from character and stash. All I can think of what happened is that PoE helper is not safe. That is all I had that could influence my PoE account.
oh, and regarding better security; the iptracking, works fine. Facebook is using it and sends a sms to your cell for confirmation before anyone can log in from a different ip. Wouldn't that be pretty good?
hi guys, just loggen into my account and now all my charakters are gone... anyone got the same problem?

A few days ago, I noticed a user posting links to a build that actually linked to a site that looked like the official site but wasn't, and required you to log in. It looked like (from his post history) he'd been doing this for quite some time. I PM'd support and the user was (apparently) banned very quickly. The mods/devs are really involved in the community and that's rare.

You need to be careful what links you follow. Always check the url whenever you've followed a seemingly innocent link that requires you to log in (not just for PoE, but anything).

My suggestion for GGG would be to display a warning when following a link from the forums to any site that isn't the official site, like a lot of forums do. But still it's the responsibility of the player to keep his/her password safe.

thank you, I finally found out how I lost my password. I had a safe password and my computer is cleaner than my fresh cleaned floor.

I#m a gamer since ever, and never though of falling to a phishing site, but I was totally new to this game and didn't know if I had to log in to see the skill tree. Probably I didn't pay as much attention as I should have as well.

PLS warn people about this, it's an easy trap for newcommers.
Let's see if there is any one else who has clicked that link.
that has an easy fix, other gaming companies already have done it: whenever an user is about to click a link that is outside of the official domain they are redirected to a warning page informing them about that.

GGG should add something similar ASAP so other people can't trick any newbies to phising sites, specially from here!

I bet 1 chaos orb that all the hacked accounts got hacked due to either visiting shady websites or clicking on what they should not click on videos form youtube or by downloading hacks that have keyloggers or other malware in them.

Edit.
@GGG staff: in retrospect, this morning while checking the onlines, when the game loaded up instead of the regular welcome message on the login screen, there was a bunch of HTML code. Like viewing the source of a webpage. I believe it has nothing to do with the hacks but u never know. Should have taken a screen cap. Sorry for not doing it.

+1 that happend to me today it was very strange..but i didnt login to see linkk of that build
