[1.2.4] Jddogg's Sith Lord (Lightning Tendril noncrit, max spellblock)
Im changing your tree a little bit to have more mana and reduce the block too to wear cloak of def, you think its viable to have a more tanky build?

" Definately. I would suggest this for a tankier build for sure. Should be insanely tanky with the multiple forms of defense mechanics. Throw in some Atziri boots if you wanna go nuts. "Success is not the absence of failure. Success is persistence through failure."

Have no idea what I am doing wrong, but I have died more on this character than any other. I almost feel like block and all are not working on the 1 week league or somehting

Hey mate, im thinking about going this build for the new hardcore league, wouldnt Cloak of Defiance be viable for this build. and would the mana i need for it, be enough out of the tree u made, and the items uve got aswell?

man its been like 13 time Hardcore...Been trying your build on the new league everything is nice but I just cant reach past lvl 40 lol. Having a blast though. Thing is those beyond mobs are really OP as fuck.
I was wondering what shield youd use early on since theres no rathpith around? I can afford a cibyl paw but that's about it. Last edited by Deadbringer#6937 on Nov 30, 2014, 8:02:31 PM

" A perandus shield is a good choice early on. can usually find for a c or two. If not that i just use whatever i can get my hands on. "Success is not the absence of failure. Success is persistence through failure."

" Yes CoD would definately be a good choice for hardcore. You would have enough mana i'd say. You would just have to not use haste aura and you should have like 700- 1k unreserved which is plenttyy. "Success is not the absence of failure. Success is persistence through failure."

" Will it still be op and kill fast now that i lose 10 aoe and some area damage. Its quite alot. And i cant crab bigger radius anywhere else. |

I first saw this thread/build a couple weeks before the end of Rampage; was interested enough to start level the LT gem to take to standard, where I had an 89 witch with a free respec and appropriate uniques (rest of gear is meh lol). After playing around with her for a couple levels, I decided to try her from scratch in the race; hardcore style.
After a bad start where I died stupidly at level 14 on my way to Mervil, I have reached level 52 at the time of this post.
Gear at time of this post
All through normal I used 2 wands, so didn't spec any block nodes. Instead I focused on life, needed stats, life and DPS. Once I hit A2C I found the shield linked in my gear, and started allocating my free quest passives toward block, while using normal level ups for life, DPS and pathing. One would think that with 28% block, 8% spell block, under 10% armor and ~24% evasion that I should have died a long time ago. I quickly found that with lots of life, capped resists, decent DPS....and most importantly....MOBILITY, she is (so far lol) quite survivable. I am in A3C atm, and plan to stay there until around lvl 60 or so, before moving on to Merciless. I have yet to take Eldritch Battery, altho I will path right by it in a few more levels. I probably won't take EB until I find some better gear; altho by taking it, it will enable me to start leveling my AA gem. As far as added lightning dmage versus lightning penetration gems; I am leveling both up, and swap one for the other depending on what I'm fighting. The 2 auras I normally run are Clarity and HoT, tho PoL is there for when I fight Fidiletas/Piety/Dominus. I'm leveling PoE atm in case I'm not properly geared prior to entering Merciless. There are still many gems to find/acquire, as well. I have considered Perandus shield, but atm I can't justify paying 5c for it, whan all I have is 5c lol. I do agree tho, that shield is great for leveling all the way through merciless. As far as the Beyond spawns, mobility is your best defense.... don't kill too many mobs in one place; spread those portals out. If (when) you do spawn Beyonders, again mobility is key (always travel obliquely). Jddogg, Thanks for coming up with and posting this build. I enjoyed testing it on Standard, and am having a(n) (adreneline pumping) blast with her in the hardcore race......even tho I'm going turtle speed hehehehe. Edit: BTW, I like the name change in your title :D 17/04/2021 https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3082616/page/1 "We tell people that Path of Exile league starts are a fair playing field for everyone, and we need to actually make sure that is the reality." A BLATANT LIE by the HMFIIC. Perhaps GGG should consider a leadership change. Last edited by Bjorn_Angannon#7300 on Dec 2, 2014, 3:57:03 AM

Yeah this build is great.
At first I didn't want to spend few chaos on getting gear but I did...and it push the build to a next level. Playing hardcore so I went for block and life mostly + some damage. I literally right click piety cruel at lvl 50. my dps is like 2.7k ..on a 4l lightning pen+ lightning tendrils+lifegain on hit +spell echo.2k life atm, need to shop for better gear before going merciless. With this setup I feel pretty safe. Block chance is really making it easy. Crest of perandus was really the best thing to buy. My plan after cruel is to get a cwdt setup for increase survivability and I need to get a vaal haste which will really push the build lvling speed even farther. So far so good.Got a 5l sitting in my stash got to get lvl53 first so..Ill probably throw in lightning dmg and/or fastercast. Thanks for the build. My gear atm
