[1.3.0] Jaws of Agony Crit Trapper - Edited build for next HC League

I still do same amount of dps after the nerf. Crit got nerfed but you got more elemental damage on the tree, so the damage is about the same. I'm doing 9k avg damage on fire trap, still one shotting everything.
How do you feel about Divinarius as an endgame weapon?



Do you think Carcass Jack would work in softcore?

I'm only level 50, and it's ok so far. I've been avoiding damage nodes for a while in order to get over to Purity of Flesh and Devotion for the extra strength. I plan to take Celestial Judgmenet after that. Arctic Armour is a no go right now even with a lot of mana regen on gear (I'll need to take mana nodes soon too), so survivability's all about running and popping potions. I barely have any crit nodes since I prioritized other things on the tree, so I've been using Increased Burning Damage in my Tabula Rasa. I imagine things will feel much better once I hit level 70 and can use Jaws of Agony (along with Cloak or Carcass Jack).

divinarius will def work, but you will probably want to replace it end-game for ele damage/fire damage wand or sceptre because ele damage and fire damage will double dip on your fire trap damage and burn damage.
Why are there Elemental Proliferation gems linked to traps? According to http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Elemental_Proliferation they don't apply to Fire Trap? Thank you

i see you take critical strike chance for spells in the tree, but i thought trap weren't considered as spell, am i wrong ?
same for the spell dmg with power charge in the witch area

I think that you're correct. It may be that this is more of a theory build that hasn't really been tested out?

What the Wiki doesn't say is that Elemental Prolif. works on the initial burst of fire damage, so it's still worth using.

You're confused. All traps are spells. Check the Keywords on the Wiki or when you hover over the gem itself.

i have a few other questions :
-i'm using deerstalker boots, what support gem would you recommend instead of the trap one for coldsnap ?

-is arctic armor used ? you dont talk about it in the link section but it's in your cwdt gloves

-why dont you use multiple traps with fire trap ?

-are the gems linked with fire trap in a priority order ?

I've used this build to lvl 80 in torment so I'll see if I can answer some of your questions Belgian.

I wouldn't recommend deerstalker boots, you need life/resists wherever you can fit them in. But if you do use them, you could use increased aoe, added cold damage, or increased critical strikes, try them all and see which one you like, but preferably just use different boots.

Arctic armor is used, the author mentions it under the faq spoiler.

Linking multiple traps to fire trap means you would have to drop one of the other gems, lessening fire trap's damage.

The order for fire trap under the links spoiler would be the proper priority.
