Permeability: Players, monsters and most projectiles can not pass through a frost wall. There are some exceptions: teleporting and leaping skills, and projectiles that pierce can pass through a Frost Wall. Frost Walls are Impermeable to all other movement and projectiles, even if they are originated by the caster.

Speccing out of the top of the tree means a few things.


We lose Unnatural Calm. (and the 1% max lit res that comes with it)
We lose Deep Thoughts (this becomes Dreamer Cluster instead)


We only need 3 int nodes to connect the tree, rather than 5. One of the nodes we free up goes to Dreamer (3 nodes vs Deep Thoughts 2 nodes). I have the other 4 into Elder Power atm. (big phys dmg boost, and converted dmg into cold and fire.

Would also be running Hatred over Wrath.


re: projectiles vs frost wall - afaik frost wall blocks them. pierce is required to counter that.




@Turtleken - If I do end up skipping CoE that could be worth looking into. Not sure who has crafted perfect mana rings that have the 20% es on them - any idea? Gaining resist elsewhere would allow us to drop a resist on ring to gain that es.

I'd prefer crit/multi and spelldamage over Elder Power like this:

this way u also win 20% mana reg for a higher AA lvl. dunno if all this is better than 10% extra cold/fire from Elder Power, they're also very good

Have you done the math for Quick Recovery over Dreamer? 25% extra mana regen might beat out the 36% max mana, and the extra life and life regen doesn't hurt

I will try it, might need the bigger mana float to sustain our skill though. Going to test out Elemental Hit a lot next few days see how it compares vs the others.



Finally colored my main Shav for running this setup without PCoC -





Atm I have LMP in as it makes it a lot easier to hit people, would LOVE to fit in Cold penetration somehow. (but would have to drop Added Acc? I dunno - hit chance goes for a tumble and we need every bit of crit we can get when playign without Power Charges)





Edit: I've also checked the math on being culled again - with the Written in Blood 2 pt passives taken.

Well above the 10% break point, it is enough room to be safe from Cull even in the exact moment that we cast Blood Rage by 0.3 life.

(We have 203 life unreserved, the 10% + 53 Blood Rage cost is 202.7 life)
