As always final patch notes will be posted a day or two before the patch goes up on beta. Chris has already talked about most of the changes coming in 0.9.3 in the various update threads.

Something that I don't think has been mentioned is just how much new art is included in the upcoming patch. You've already seen some of the new UI work and the new flask art. There are also new enemy skins, new terrain art and effects, new item art, rare monster aura effects, new quest art, etc. Not only does the game play a lot better but it also looks a lot better.

Good decision to wipe all the characters. I am really looking forward to the new patch and a fresh start.

Once the new patch is up - and what a great patch, from the front page article it looks like it will be for balance and improving the fun and structure of PoE (too many exciting changes in there to summarise the items I most liked) - but once the patch is in beta realm, then it's not as important to retain the past version characters, other than maybe for comparison, but it's nice the characters remain. Although, good for test focus it is that all players start afresh.

I believe so, what would the point in having lots of items you cant use? :)

Well, I was kind of hoping to keep all the currency items but no biggy! ...

It would be very advisible not to delete currency items. It would be a little reward for have playing the first stage and would help to faster test playbility of items in the overworked environment.

They wipe to get rid of those items you store there .... so YES!


@Currency Items ... maybe they changed droprates too and need fresh data and no old mirrors etc.
And the jewelers will change too ..
