This looks awesome
I'm using dual cybil's claw dual wielding block nodes for an incinerator and its not working well.
I'd really like to go cybils/aegis while keeping incinerate for my damage.
Could you help me mull up a passive tree for this? :)
I don't usually have time to do that, but I had a few minutes this morning. Something like the following would still give you max block with Aegis, Unwavering Stance, and replaced physical nodes with elemental/fire damage ones. It could probably be optimized better, but it's based on my build so hope it helps!
General idea - This build utilizes Max blocking with Aegis Aurora, high armour, and a generally medium amount of ES to survive. You really don't need more than 1,300ES or so, as you will be blocking so damn much that it rarely depletes. The damage is physical based with the rich using a doryani's, and at level 76 currently is about 7.7k dps. Respectable and can get you through a lot of content.
I had help making this build. I don't think it is anything groundbreaking, and is likely a hodgepodge of similar other builds out there, but I can solo just about anything that doesn't hit stupidly hard and slow.
Current Stats
7,718 DPS
2,607 HP
1,280 ES
Block/SpellBlock 75%/56%
Armour 10.5k
Ill keep this simple and just post my gear and general gameplay ideas.
Gear
Spoiler
The -only- essential items here are the Aegis Aurora, and Stone of Lazhwar. Aegis keeps you alive by healing your ES each time you block, and stone helps you block a lot of spells. The rainbowstrides round it out with even more spell block, but I dare say not essential.
Gems and Auras
Spoiler
Chest: Currently I have a great 6 Link body armor, but you can get by with 5 fine. It just means you will take a bit longer to kill things, but this is more of a tank than anything.
Tempest Shield: I use this to round off the remaining 4% block, and combine it with iron will for damage, and mana leech, as it has no multiplier and benefits from the iron will to help mana.
Auras: I run a low clarity(leveled as needed) off a blood magic gem to help mana regen, with determination and purity of elements on reduced mana. I only run purity as the situation warrants.
You might be wondering why I took Unwavering Stance. To the uninitiated, it means I have no delay or lag from blocking. So you can just block as fast as the attacks come in.
So how does this work in a nutshell?
Find a big ass pack, leap slam right into it, block so much you rarely deplete your ES, and lightning strike everything until it is dead. The fun thing is that since this is purely physical maces, you could just as easily use molten strike, glacial hammer, or even ground slam though I don't like the 80% base damage on that.
If you have mana issues? Use a mana leech gem on your LS.
Life issues? That might be a problem until you can use aegis, but if you are using multistrike and faster attacks like I mentioned, a life on hit gem keeps you going strong pretty well, especially with all the projectiles going off.
I think that about covers it. I know this isn't really unique, but with the setup I have it works well. Doryani's definitely is great if you can afford, but otherwise get a really high damage club or 1-hander mace type.
I wanted to build something similar with max block and aegis for some time now, and yesterday me and my friend created Beyond accounts. Here is what im planning to build. I want to build really tanky character which would in the best case be undying.
Im going to run IR and Determination + Grace as auras to get tons of armour. Instead of Tempest Shield im going to run Herald of Ash for more dmg. If i cant sustain my attacks, i can change Herald of Ash easily to Tempest shield just by going from Water Dancing to Testudo at Duelist area. However im not sure how much Tempest Shield with mana leech and other support gems would affect to possible mana problems. 10% reduced mana cost of skills and Clarity on Blood Magic should probably to the trick since im not going to have 6L any time soon.
Idk what other gems im going to use, probably high level CWDT+IC+ID+MS and little bit lower lvl CWDT+EC
Sorry, this is not a tank.
You'll struggle in lategame maps, there's so much stuff that will kill you outright.
Aegis can only protect you for so long.
Your Lvl 93 tree is not optimized.
And 101% life is painfully low for a lvl93 build.
*At Duelist, you can take 3% attack speed instead of +10 str
*If you need the 20 Dex at Templar, you can reroute your path to Duelist via the two +10 Dex nodes at marauder
*You take 4% health nodes at Marauder, but not the 5-8% health nodes at Duelist?
*The two little nodes after "Blunt Instrument" notable can be used more efficiently
*you skip the 8% health + chaos resist notable
With some minor tweaks, I got it to +149% life.
Armor should be roughly the same, I dropped 2% block.
I gained you some attack speed, but dropped a bit of %damage.
+48% life vs 2% block should be a great exchange.
Personally, I'd even remove the whole Armor/ES cluster "Body and Soul" for six points that can all go into life. Like this.
Or remove Iron Grip+Unwavering Stance. This 7 point investment doesn't look to great to me.
With no crit nodes, I'd also recommend using Resolute Technique. 105 point tree
This is what I would aim for. Add some Dex/Int if you need it.
---
Also: Your gear desperatly needs life rolls.
At least on rings and gloves, I'd even reroll the chest for 90+ life, and drop the unique helmet and belt for rare versions with life.
---
In your 6L, added lightning damage is a very bad choice.
Replace it with anything, best would probably be "weapon elemental damage".
^^ Good points and (even you didnt say anything to me) thanks to bringing me back to my feet again. Afterall this is Path of Life Nodes. I tweaked my build a little bit, now it has more hp, armour and attack speed. Tried to optimize it the best i could, but one cant simply see everything. Area from Born to Fight and Warrior's Blood is still a little mess. I wonder if i can survive with only 147% increased hp...

Appreciate the feedback man! One of the reasons I posted this was to get the idea out there and hopefully people would find ways to improve it. I really like what you did to change the tree, however I disagree about removing resolute technique, as it completely removes any delay between blocks.
I do agree the build needs more life, and most of the time I don't even bother using my clarity gem unless something has the armoured mod or a ton of HP. That gives me about 3k HP currently, and 1240 ES. It isn't enough, but I think your changes can help that along.
I run a lvl 93 atm templar block aegis. 3.5k hp 1.9 es 16k dps, and I would say you need more than 1.3 es because hard hitters will deplete not only your es but your life.
