Ahoy there.
Great guide :D I have a question: I've seen that % Increased Spell Damage on Wands or Gear is not effecting the DPS of flame totem. I have two Devil's Horns wand that I tested this with. Only % increased fire or elemental damage works. Is there something I'm doing wrong or has been updated since the guide? If so, can I leave that mod out of the gear choices? I'm playing this build on Standard btw. ■► It's a business. You won't get the full experience.

Not sure what you're doing but spell damage on gear most certainly affects the Flame Totem DPS.
Without any weapon my tooltip DPS reads 22,480.3, when I equip this wand it reads 24,667.2 and since the wand has no other modifiers the increase has to come from spell damage. Last edited by tomay#5509 on Feb 2, 2017, 8:04:52 AM

" Other than placing you near two more 5%/1 point life nodes, Quick Recovery provides more survivability than Bloodless. Cannot leech is going to be a conditional survivability benefit while .8% life regen scales and is always useful. " Depends on what you consider end game. With enough gear you should be able to clear all maps. I can't speak for it's viability when it comes to guardians or shaper. |

Alright I currently have as my chest, and I have enough currency to either grab a 6l Infernal Mantle with the right sockets and all, or I can pick up a Tukohama's Fortress, and I was wondering which would be better for overall dps?
|

Tukohama's Fortress of course.
Infernal Mantle will result in slightly higher projectile damage (+1 to Fire Gems and 35% increased Damage) while Tukohama's Fortress grants 40% increased Totem Damage and an extra totem with three projectiles so the overall damage output will be much higher. And speaking of damage, why are you using Iron Will when Elemental Focus yields so much more damage? (19.8k vs 26.7k unbuffed tooltip DPS in my case) I know, Ngahamu gives us 35% increased dmg against burning enemies and with Elemental Focus our totems cannot ignite but this is only about 1K DPS more at best. And if you really want the 35% you can pimp a Flame Golem with Spell Echo, GMP and Chance to Ignite... Voliá, there's your burning enemies. ;) Last edited by tomay#5509 on Feb 3, 2017, 8:30:44 AM

Thank you for the input sir, and I was actually rocking the Iron will from the suggestion of the guide above.
Searching for an Infernal Mantle with the sockets for that setup will actually be much cheaper than I anticipated, so that's a win-win when i get my chaos stock back up :) Last question, what are your thoughts on Hrimnor's Resolve for the helmet slot? or is there something more important I should have? my current helmet is And I'm looking to upgrade soon, and I'm not seeing many rare helmets with my desired mods in the forums. |
|
Wouldn't be my first choice... Hrimnor's Resolve offer's an OK-ish but not overwhelming damage boost and not much else. Once you have Tukohama's Fortess and Infernal Mantle, over-capping your resistances (for elemental weakness maps) will become quite problematic and the helmet slot will become a valuable source for resistances.
