[2.5 Video Guide] Beginner's Build: Dual Flame Totem, Blood Magic Chieftain [Atziri & HC/SC Viable]

Ok, so I took out my double curse, took worm ring and added anger into it. Also swapped fire golem with the new one.

Free few k dps.

New golem is superior to our old fire one.

Also added one more vaal haste, so im pretty much perma vaaling ;p Pretty funny I must say.

I just discovered that you can use Infernal Mantle with 2-3 auras! It says 100% Spell damage taken when on low mana - on low mana means 35% mana it seems.

You just have to replace the clear mind jewel then, but i think 3 auras (anger + arctic armor + another) is worth it?

And we don't use alot of mana so skipping Blood Magic should be worth it? The life nodes are nice after it I know, but then also 4 more passive points available and the auras! You can get the life nodes (esp. for HC) with cruel preparation at the top of tree.

Maybe like +50 mana on one piece of gear needed to run 3 auras, but then profit, even with no additional mana and 2 auras should be worth it, as the arctic armor won't reserve your life then.

Do not forget that Blood Magic allows you to run some nasty maps plus I feel like we don't need that many auras anyway.

I read about Lioneye's Vision here and there and decided to trade my near perfect 6l Infernal Mantle for one of these after crunching some numbers. It might be the better choice for the Chieftain since it gives both life and armour, stats that already scale well with both our passive tree and other items.

With that being said, switching from Infernal Mantle to Lioneye's Vision gave me roughly 3k more DPS. I also have 5,7k life and 15k armour now, pretty solid so far.


My current gear, still a work in progress. Gems are not 20 yet, also needs quality. The amulet however is quite solid, I will keep that for sure.

I today change my Infernal Mantle 6l 34% for a Lioneye´s Vision 6l, my numbers...

Totem DPS: 43.171
Armor: 9.003
Life: 5.528

Lioneye´s
Totem DPS: 46.631
Armor: 14.185
Life: 5.792

Resume Lioneye´s give me 3.460 dps, 5.182 armor and more 264 HP.

What should I be doing in the early game? I'm at Prisoner's Gate atm, and I'm not doing much damage at all. Am I meant to just drop the totem and run around till everything dies? Because in that case, it's going to take a long time..

till ancestral bond i had a 2H-sword + +melee splash and totem only passiv.

Just use an attack spell (like Spark) put it in lifesprig with flametotem and added lightning damage.

When people refer to high dps such as 40k+, is that the raw number displayed on the tooltip or simply the amount they have with 2 totems out? Like I sit at 21k now while wearing a shield (which would be 42k with 2 totems out, or not?) and can easily reach 40k tooltip with 2 wands (would translate to 80k, or am I dumb here?).

Noob question! (The last time I played this game we had map levels xD ).



1) Isn't the build overtanked ? Given that your totems are tanking with the taunt.


2) I recall this build was MF viable. Is it still ? In that case, up to which map Tier ?

Raw number on the tooltip, for 1 totem.

I got around 27k with Anger and my Flame Golem up, 38k with Elemental Overload. I use a shield as well (a rare one, not Lioneye's Remorse). I got a pretty defensive set up, so it gives you a clue of the dps you can get, I could get some more dps as all my gems have 20% quality now but not all of them are level 20 yet, also I only have a 5l Lioneye's Vision (I have blown 930+ fusings into it for nothing, no 6l for me).

Ah thanks, always was jealous when I saw people hitting 40k+ as I thought it was tooltip. Nice, that means I'm on the right way since I'm sitting on 24k tooltip now - no auras at all.
