Noob here but i wanted to ask why Templar is not considered optimal Dual Fire Totem (although i guess if your using Templar it would be Quad) build along with Marauder? I was just glancing at the Ascendancy subclasses and saw Ritual of Awakening for the Templar that allowed you to drop 2 additional totems for a total of 4 correct? I realise you lose 10% damage on each totem but you would have double the totems.
Being a noob i'm sure im missing something but this would seem like a huge reason to choose Templar over Marauder, what am i missing here? |

" Go with the listed order from the guide mate. Fire Penetration may not show on the tool-tip but it is one of the most strongest DPS increases you can have :) Weekly build guides: Youtube.com/LiftingNerdBro

" Nothing wrong with going Hierophant, but it is a different type of build. It wouldn't work for this :) Weekly build guides: Youtube.com/LiftingNerdBro

Im currently playing this build :)
I just hit 41 (completely new) yet to die, and just entered Cruel. This build is for sure Beginner friendly. The only Help I have gotten was a guildie that have given me the Clear Mind Jewel which is indeed a help but even before bloodmagic and that jewel it was pretty smooth sailing. I used Firestorm until I got Ancestral Bonds for some extra dps. But all in all Very smooth guide :) From one dane to another, next beer is on me :) |

" First of let me say that I love the guide LiftingNerdBro, I love how you explain not just how to spec and what skill gems to use but also why you choose them. I am very new to PoE and have only played 2 characters so far, my first one being your Ranger CritBow BlastRain/LA build (which im loving by the way) and the second a Tanky 1h/shield build I made myself after learning a little more about the game systems through a lot of reading. My question was in no way a critique on the Marauder as top billing as I am going to use this build for the simple reason that I know my knowledge base for this game is very limited right now. I only asked because being the noob I am I saw 4 totems for the Templar and I nearly wet myself. One of the reasons why I looked at the Templar tree is when I first looked at your Dual Flame Totem build I saw it listed in the Witch Forums and there was talk about using Templar as well. I know that since Ascendancy classes came out it changed a lot in regards to this build. Upon further reviewing the ascendancy skills I do see that the Templar seems to have a lot of mana passives on the way to Ritual of Awakening that obviously would be wasted using Blood Magic. Also I'm guessing that between Tawhoa Forest's Strength ability to give a nice bump in totem damage through Iron Will and the skill line through to Tukohama War's Herald providing big buffs to surviveability (as well as dmg boosts) that's what really makes the Marauder shine over going Ritual of Awakening with Templar, especially for new players such as myself. Again appreiciate all the hard work you put into making these guides for us!!! |
