Herald' Buff + Curse on hit + Curse

Hi,
Im not sure if this is a bug, but when you link
Herald' Buff + Curse on hit + Curse

Description is actually saying that the Herald buff would apply the linked curse.

But it's doing nothing.

not intended to work, curse on hit require you to hit with the linked spell, you are not hitting with any of the heralds it's an added aoe effect to other attacks breaking the direct link.

does not change the fact that the description is false for it.

You cant also spell echo a melee skill or can you? ... no
dude, all of the cast on/curse on requires you to make direct damage from the linked spell/attack thats a known mechanic since it's inclusion

Heralds DO NOT deal direct damage but add damage to attacks/spells and give a bonus AOE effect triggered by the normal spell/attack.

There is no bug...you are misunderstanding the mechanics

they deal direct dmg on killing blow.
and even if? When it is not intendet to work. The description is still wrong? why should i not report that lol.

I dont get your point.

Is this on the list of bugs to fix?
Is this even a bug?
I made a build around this, and I can't just self cast the curse (reave), so I just lost the 350% crit chance that assasin's mark's power charges could have gotten me.
Any chance of this being fixed.
P.s. I am pretty damn sure this is a bug. Herald of ice deals spell damage whenever you shatter an enemy. Everything else that applies to spells applies to it, it's just a shame that this use is broken :/
AGAIN it's not a bug and will not be fixed.

What part of direct damage did YOU not understand?

You cast spell that spell damages, nothing in between = direct damage
You cast herald, cast your spell, spell dose damage...may cause a trigger which is not damage caused directly by you = not direct

Trigger gems need direct damage to work...end of, no bug and no fix needed.

I think explosion damage is dealt directly by Herald of Ice. Not sure about curse on hit, but other supports certainly work with this direct effect

e: doh, I can see now why CoH does not work, the hits are not made by YOU

OK, sure. If what you're saying is true, then herald of ice explosion damage is dealt by the enemy, and not you.
Ok, if that is the case, then explain to me why the explosion from herald of ice can shatter enemies and make them explode as well. It require YOU to do damage in order to shatter, and if the explosion is damage not dealt by you then why?
I know this is true. I played a cold snap build with prolif, and it happened every time I found an allies cannot die rare.
Also, if this is the case, does detonate dead work with curse on hit? It doesn't deal direct damage. It does apply curse on hit.
So yes, I've done my research. Thanks.
edit: I'm simply looking for some consistency is all.
edit2: HoI also works with blind. Why.

Small notes.
It doesn't require YOU to deal damage to shatter the enemies.
Any (non uniq) monster who is killed while frozen shatter.

As for Detonate Dead.
It's not a DoT, nor a degen.effect; you take reflected damage from it. So yeah, mechanically, DD is a "hit"; and it deals "direct damage" in terms of mechanics. Not "player deals direct damage", but skill does.
