Anyway I got the staff right now which I didn't have in that video, so killing is going faster.

The big problem for the future I see is indeed freezing bosses as said before. I fear that dps (in general) is somewhat on the low side? Can we boost this in anyway?


You'll want to get Doryani's belt for extra freezing chance and life leech. Also, every boss has a pack of blues around it, so you'll want to use those to freeze the boss. Kill the only after the boss.

I have played only this build with little tweaks so far, but I think DPS is lacking. I have a casting time with spell echo 0.30s and damage per casting is around 3000. Playing alone it is sufficient but in bigger groups the damage is pathetic.

I don't know how high damage this build can achieve since I have taken some energy shield nodes instead of damage nodes and I only have 5L. But with 6L Taryn's Shiver or Pledge of Hands I think one could achieve 10k-20k DPS.

I managed to freeze the map boss, but the zana boss killed me.

hey =) i just wanted to give a suggestion / theory craft question

whouldnt it make more sence to go for herald of thunder instead of resolute technique?

because if you somehow crit, you will get the lightning storm around you that will give you powercharges back instantly. the 5% critchance are also increased damage but the point is saving the way for resolute technique

How do you get power charges back with the lightning storm HoT provides? I haven't run HoT myself but looking it at wiki I don't see how it would provide power charges without additional gems.
I'm using this build (excluding the endurance charge nodes), I'm currently lvl 71. But sadly the damage is really falling off in those higher level maps. Up to lvl 74 maps (solo) the dps is doable/fine. But the low dps makes me near useless in full parties in lvl 75+ maps. Yeah sure I can freeze... But I can't deal damage and my freeze is useless since other people kill those packs (or the whole screen) in less than a second anyway. It's only good for bosses or vs magnus/igna but that's about it. I feel useless.

I have no use for the lifeleech whatsoever so I put in an empower. Cold penetration is probably better but then I need to chrome it again...
Reflect is no problem as long as I don't hit a whole pack and as long as I activate the potion.

In your shiver you have gems that are not adding to damage in any significant way. Take the empower and increased AOE out, you don't need increased AOE and ele prolif. Throw in faster casting and if you want, make the other slot blue, throw in conc effect. Or if you miss the AOE range (but jack makes up for 20% of that and any passives you took as well), make that other slot green throw in added cold damage. Just my 2c

the main damage to groups comes from HoI -> kill 1 target, everyone dies
empower is a major damage gem, especially on level 3

question right back at you: how do you generate powercharges with this build in the first place?

HoT should proc it aswell and providing you with charges if you crit (you dont stack crit so you still have only 4% base chance anyway.
as a little update on my side: you cant recharge powercharges from HoT procs :/ (but ill still use it since i have too much mana and its extra damage >:] )

also i have thought about a level 90+ish tree which whould fit for this build

but im thinking of dropping the 3 10% spelldamage nodes at the start and taking the 3 cast interruption nodes since they might be vital for not dying with this build
I'm not sure you need the extra freeze chance nodes at all. I haven't taken the nodes towards Breath of Rimes and Fingers of Frost but I still can do most of the bosses. I think getting longer freeze duration and more cast speed compansate those freeze chances. Freeze duration is easily increased with quality gems and cast speed goes straight to damage.

There is a few odd nodes I haven't respec yet, and those energy shield nodes you could swap for damage or aura nodes to get extra damage. I'm planning to take extra endurance charge nodes when I get Voll's amulet.
