[3.0] NeverSink's ♣ INDEPTH Tornado&Archer Guide ♣ Beginner friendly ♣ Rapid clear ♣ All bosses

The beginning of the guide mentions the pierce changes for 3.0... but the final skill tree does not include the pierce passives. Are these passives not worth it?

"
Pierce Rework - Pierce is no longer random. All +%chance to pierce nodes and effects have been replaced with +pierces X targets. The new effect is much more consistent. We can also easily pick up 3-target-pierce from the skilltree. This is quite an opportunity for tornado shot.
Thanks for the guide.

Since i am a new player i don't have access yet to 6 slots gear.
What would you guys recommend?
Also it seems i messed up my skill tree a bit doing it on my own, the manapool is not that big and seems to empty pretty quickly with tornadoshot, i used fire shot until now.

Should i wait for refund or do it now?

ps : i read the leveling part of the guide but i don't really like shrapnel shot. Also i got rekt a few levels ago by izaro, hence my quest for a new build (first death actually)

Until you get a 6L chest (i recommend rare 6L first), you can use a 5L rare with hp/res, should be <2c, around level 50-68 you wanna swap your gear to endgame gear with good life and res, stats if needed, then damage mods after that.

Get more mana leech/mana on hit on higher damage somehow and the leech should be fine, i tend to use 0.8-1.2% when leveling, later drop to 0.4% only, and you should have plenty of respec points(around 20?) from the quests.

At your level, I'd build my tree differently. You've spent most of your points moving around the tree and made some inefficient purchases. Pretty much THE biggest problem I encounter while leveling is mana consumption. That Jewel socket you've taken is very inefficient, there are two others that are much easier to reach (as you build).

I also wouldn't bother with Phase Acrobatics at your level. If you want it, then maybe when you're up in the 60-70 range.

At your level, my tree would look about like this:

Note that I've taken Primal Spirit, which helps with mana consumption. Note also that Primal Spirit gives you +20 Strength and +20 Int, which means you can probably reassign the point you spent on Beef. You can also take Mana Flows if you really need it (in the Duelist section). Once you're better established you can refund those points easily and reapply them elsewhere.

Note also, that I have mana regen on many of the pieces of gear I'm wearing. (I'm not suggesting that these are GOOD pieces, but they're chosen to balance out my resists, and give me enough mana regen to operate).

In addition, I've also chosen different Jewels than you, I tend to take the ones that offer me mana regen:
There's also the one I have utilized in my tree: Assassin's Haste.

Note also that the Ghoul Noose Paua Amulet came from Eleron. I specifically chose it because it was a Paua amulet with his signature mod (reduced mana cost of skills). This started as a blue amulet that I hit with an Orb of Augmentation, and then a Regal,
and then added additional mana regen using Eleron's Blessing Font.

On the cusp of 1000 pages; thanks for the years of hard work keeping this tome of knowledge up-to-date Neversink & crew!

Thanks for the replies.

I did the normal and cruel Labs, and have to admit the Frenzy charges are now there. I finally hit Lv 68 so can now pretty much use most of the armor available. I have some pieces to switch to once Harbinger league ends and I get to Standard.

I have enjoyed the Ranger, I actually can't believe I've waited so long to try the class. I have never played any character with a bow, and will likely re-spec one of my Scions over to a Bow Build

After the Poacher and Avatar of the Slaughter nodes are taken, what do most others go for?

I see on your post, UnquietHeart , you mentioned the Quartz Infusion.

Anything else a good choice?

Glad it's working out for you.

I usually go for Quartz Infusion first because it offers the defensive bonus (Phase on Kill). This allows me to keep moving, even when swarmed by enemies. And since I'm usually playing SSF, I'm usually undergeared with low life and low DPS for quite a while. Maintaining my mobility despite what's happening around me is a defensive strategy I find useful. Like everyone says, "A dead Ranger does no DPS".

My second choice is Way of the Poacher for the Frenzy charges.

I vacillate on the third choice. Both Avatar of Slaughter and Avatar of the Veil tempt me. I think historically, I've usually chosen Avatar of Slaughter 3rd.

Rapid Assault and Avatar of the Chase are both nice, but I don't think they offer as much utility as the other choices.

I don't think i can farm chaos orbs yet, i only have one in my stash and i am at act 4 now (first run)

0.8% leech seems quite low?
I'm not used to POE numbers, what does it translate to? (i started the game 3 days ago).

@Unquietheart : lots of tips there, will read that more in depth tonight, thanks mate.

If you're getting gear at or above ilevel 60, then you can farm Chaos. However, It will take up some inventory space.

There is a vendor recipe for a compete set of (Rare) gear.
Below ilevel 60, it will pay out one Orb of Chance.
Above ilevel 60, but below ilevel 75, it will pay out one Orb of Chaos.
Above ilevel 75, it will pay out one Regal.

If you use un-ID'd pieces, you get two orbs.

You need everything: Weapon and Shield (or two handed weapon), Helm, Chest, Belt, Gloves, Boots, two Rings, and an Amulet.
