1.3 Update: Dropped Haste for HoI + Hot. Picked up Ondar's due to AA nerf.





Hey everyone.

I previously made a Nalaa's Static Blow ranger build back in OBT. A lot of friends and random people have been asking for my Wander build. It would take me awhile to email or pm them so i decided to just write up a small guide.

After doing a lot of research. this would be one of the best, if not the best way to play wander if you dont have 40-50exalts to spare. I have optimised the tree so that there are no wasted points and you are getting the best value for each point. Also, 1 more thing to add, there is no such thing as a mana problem with this build.

Is Iron Reflex's worth it?
No, definitely not. Tried and tested. We dont get his often. Its not worth going all the way down there to grab it. If youre thinking of reflect, iron reflex doesnt do anything for you since you do way too much damage. In terms of other monster hits, also not worth it because we can use those points to get more life, or Ondar's if you really want. By getting Iron Reflexes, you're also sacrificing an Aura because you wont have enough points to grab the other Aura cluster.


How do you deal with reflect?
Physical Reflect: Believe it or not, Arctic armour mitigates a shitload of damage. I've never even had problems with phy reflect before.


Elemental Reflect: Switch Weapon ele dmg gem for Life leech gem and you will have no problems with reflect at all

Double Reflect: Same with elemental reflect. You'd take a little bit more damage but it should still be quite a smooth run


IMO, this is the best build you can do right now in this league since it's so early. Even later on in this league, if you dont have over 40-50 exalts to spare, this would be the best build to go.

You can save a point near the "Athleticism" node. Rather than taking the intelligence and strength to the right, you can simply take a strength node on the left.

I chose that way because its a 111/120 point guide. So if i level higher, i'd move towards the health area of templar tree.

You are right though. If i were to stop at that level, i would go from the left side.

What happens when you hit reflect?
Does AA really mitigate all the reflect that much?

I was skeptical at first as well. But AA really does mitigate that much damage.

Funny enough i have MUCH more trouble dealing with ele reflect than physical. I can do ele reflect maps but i have to turn off hatred and HoA. Even with Hatred and HoA on, i can do it. Just takes awhile.

So why not just drop 8 damage nodes and get ondar's and then not have to deal with dropping auras and such?

I compared your build with my own one and i think your build is very similar to my actual build and as i told you, my damage is quite low.

With my gear right now, my dodge chance is 9%. With Ondar's it'd be 18%, the difference is so minimal it you wouldnt even realise it. However, you would realise the 8 points in damage you just took off. From 10k dps, those 8 points would maybe drop it to 8k.

Also, i end up with a ele reflect map once every like 30 maps. Phy damage on the other hand isnt even a problem. So Ondar's MAY be good when you have awesome ass gear. But even if you have them, i wouldnt really run it.

Firstly, dont run alpha's howl. Its really bad. Get an ES helmet with accuracy resist and life. Its MUCH better.

Secondly, you have wasted a lot of points going to the 'Revenge of the Hunted' passive node under shadow tree. I think copying my build will help you a bit.

Other than that, just hold up and find better gear. Your items arent that good and wanders dont really show results until you have better gear.

That's why you get hybrid EVA/ES gear and in most groups someone is running grace
