Probably takes more than a few dozen on average to get both corrupted with dual block, but fire leech or culling are equally as good. All that really matters is at least having 40% block to soft-cap when using Rumi's.

Heya, I've been thinking about starting PoE again after trying it out like a year ago. This seems very fun, strong and versatile, but be honest - how viable is this when starting from essentially nothing? How expensive are the necessary items? Can you just start fresh, and get by without undue misery of trying to make the build work?

Sorry for an essentially worthless post, I guess I just want some sort of reassurement that I won't have a terrible time when starting with this, and I can get the items necessary to make the build work smoothy without farming for months.

Cybil's Paws, Stone of Lazhwar, Three Dragon's, and Pyre are the core items and all of them are early game unique drops that are quite common and abundant. That means they are usually quite cheap unless they are perfect rolled w/ an amazing corruption. Looking on poe.xyz you could get a full starter set of these items for around 5c.

So this build is quite literally one of the cheapest.

I'm not sure where you're looking, Hack, but cheap it is NOT.

Cyril's Paws are going for 16-50 chaos in Beyond right now.

Stone of Lazhwar (uncorrupted) is going for 10c+.

3 Dragons is still cheap (1c+), and Pyre starts at 1 fusing. Then there's the 'required' end-game boots.

That said, this build is very powerful early on, so it helps there. :)

I think I'll be starting in softcore :D

I do have a question about leveling. Is Fire Trap alone really enough till Searing? And what do you link it with?

Yeah, the popularity of Incinerate has inflated the prices on Cybil's, but one doesn't need the best rolls to start and one can buy a poor corruption Lazhwar for much cheaper than an uncorrupted one.

Any projectile spell like Freeze Pulse or Fireball is fine to level with or as something to fall back on when using Fire Trap and Searing. Once you are able to afford a Cybil's and a decent quality Incinerate you can swap it in to pair with Searing Bond. Searing will do most of the work while Incinerate is there to clean stuff up and for life gain.

Incinerate + LMP + Faster Casting/Spell Echo + Quality Added Cold Damage/Fire Pen

That's what I did. If you can get that quality Added Cold then not only will it chill/freeze mobs, but it will trigger Herald of Ice aoe shatters, which just got a really nice buff.

one thing i don't understand. why u have elemental weakness level 19 on 3L with CWDT lvl 1? CWDT lvl 1 will not support it and u cant use it separately.

This means CWDT will not restrict the manual casting of Skill gems it can't support so I'm still able to cast EE and Enfeeble.

how would you go about leveling for this from level 1 upwards?
