1.3 ✮ The Crit DoT Chin Sol build ✮ Puncture Trap / Ice Shot (Build of the Week S3E3)
I am going to try this build in Beyond, the only uniques I will run are probably 3Dragons and Maligaro's or maybe add Atziri's step to help out if I decide to attempt atziri (with 2x vaal Grace).

164% life. With the remaining points I plan on grabbing Celerity for 214% Evasion Rating and possibly Profane Chemistry and some dmg. IGN: MyOtherRangerDied // DontBeStupidAndDieAgain // GenericSporkerWitch

Awesome so far.
It's not easy to cap resists, but it works somehow. :3 Current gear:

I think about adding another Le Heup for +resist and +stats mainly, and going for a manaleech amulet. Opinions? Patch 1.3 - never forget the big qq!

" i wouldnt go up to written in blood on your passive tree. the i would just complete the life wheel by the scion. it gives more life for the same amount of points. and cuts out the 2 int passives. Could also try the life/ flask nodes. those are really strong if you have more life

Thanks, that's a good point. I'll still go up to Written in Blood for levelling purposes because I'm closer for now but for late game I should definitely respec out of those in favour of the wheel.

Hi, started this build a few days ago and really enjoying it. Currently lvl 78 (Personally I think the fact that this build relies on manual dodging/kiting is a plus. It makes it more interesting and fun to play)
But anyway. I have a question about the HoA and Elemental Proliferation. Could you replace Elemental Prolife with Herald of Ice or is ele prolife very necessary for the shock spread? I have just recently been testing it and the added damage is a nice boost to your dps especially when you don't crit but not sure if the shock spread is more important.
Lvl 70 in rampage. Playing the budget variant of the build. Quite the glass cannon this build is. Only got 2600 something life despite having freaking life on every part possible except amulet. Is it worth crafting life onto it? Or look for a better?
Got one shotted by hybrid widow spider 3-4 times in 69 overgrown shrine map until i ran out of portals. Really could use a bit more defence. Will it get better later on? All those jumping monsters are a huge pain in the rear too. Not so much when they are densely packed together but more often than not they are scatterd around playing to their advantage. Almost impossible to kill them with puncture traps when there is a rare of those with no companions nearby. Last edited by kompaniet on Oct 5, 2014, 12:29:14 PM

Lvl 78 so far. Build is showing its immense power.
Current gear
Going for Atziri once I've got the Belly 6s5l'd. Patch 1.3 - never forget the big qq!

kompaniet your gear seems to be bad. And by that I mean your armour. You should focus on getting a decnet evasion 5link instead. Also, make up room for one or two Vaal Grace gems with Increased Duration if you're having problems right now.

I tried to make a mix of your build and the one Raiz made for Beyond, but since i'm pretty new to the game, i'd like to have some advice about it :D

Things i wonder about : - Heavy draw or deadly draw ? -Depth perception ? -Weathered hunter ? and for resists aswell : Survivalist ? -Celerity ? -Forces of nature ? -Acuity ? I know it's quite a lot, but as i said, i'm pretty new to the game, and totally new to the ranger/bow builds so i need some help :D Thanks in advance :)
Does this build actually cap resists with the 100% unique setup?
By my math OP is personally getting: Skill Tree: 10 all Doriyana: 35, 32, 32 Heup: 20 all Voll's: 20 all Belly: 13 all Dragons: 28 all Bandits: 8 all Merciless: -60 all For a total of 71-74 -- and that's with springing for a max value in Heup and Voll's. Does it not need to cap? Did I miss anything? I need to know because I am shopping :) |
