Well, thanks to the earlier advice from endertoo, I was able to move forward and I'm now lvl 84. I seem to be hitting a DPS wall now though. I probably have about 2ex worth of currency if I trade it all for chaos/exalts. I'm not sure what the best way to improve my DPS would be at this point. I know my bow kinda sucks without much crit, but decent bows are kind of ridiculously expensive right now. People are asking 2ex for bows that are craftable, but then I'd need another 2ex plus whatever fee in order to get the multiple crafting mod on it.

So, is there anything else I can do to boost DPS and general survivability in 75+ maps? It's taking a few shots usually to even take down white packs. My current stats are:

TS: 5.8k (with GMP)
Punc: 14.3k
Life: 3k
Eva: 5.7k
capped res except for chaos

For a dps boost, a 5l is what you need, or a better bow.
For a little more survivability i was thinking about another cwdt molten shell setup.

Choose something like these, they cost around 1 ex and will serve you well untill you save up for something more expencive (like 350+ pdps 9+ crit, that's around 12 ex).
Also- you NEED to get life on everything. Swap magnate for something like http://poe.trade/search/mearuamokoyeri
Try to get +str/int/Mana leech on you gear, that can save you some skillpoints.

In the tree I would recommend you to get 4 nodes around Aspect of the Eagle, 2 nodes above Assassination and then later on- 2 nodes around Lethality (crit chance/multi).

Also, I recommend you to change Puncture setup to Puncture-Trap-PPAD-Increased Critical Damage (specially if you change your bow to something with decent crit).

Well, for general idea what you want to look for on the gear, here's mine at lvl 86 (I have 4006 hp/20.5k TS GMP(~15k with 4l)/21k avg damage on Puncture with Trap/Point Blank (~40k dps with Faster Attacks in 4l)

Puncture 22.6k
Life 2.7k
Evasion 7.8k
Crit strike chance 64%
Crit strike multiplier 400%
2% Life and Mana leech
Fire res 46%
Cold res 37%
Lightning res 75%





Problem I think is my life isn't high enough and my res isn't capped. But I don't know how to raise life and cap resistances without sacrificing major DPS. Can someone give some suggestions for this build? What should I try to improve?

not running both maligaros and rats nest for a start would be good

also 1 of your rings dont even have life on it, it seems like you want to run some kind of item rarity hybrid, im not sure thats a good idea.

Just hit level 84 and looking for some feedback.

Gear (apart from the boots, the rest is pretty shite I think):


38.5k DPS on Puncture with 4 PCs
11.8k DPS on Tornado with 4 PCs
Crit chance with 4 PCs, 74.1%
Crit multi on TS: 371%
8% LL and 2% ML


3.6k Life (still need to get 8% more life from tree)
5.2K Eva
Resist are all capped, but cold and lightning are JUST so..

Need to get another bow, but anything above 240 DPS and 9+ crit is all 1ex+

What's wrong with running both maligaros and rats nest? What should I look for? And you're right, I was trying out a bit of IIR- got tired of crappy drops all the time. But the IIR is a secondary priority, I haven't sacrificed anything for that. The life, res and dps balance is the struggle for me with this build.

why do people keep putting faster attacks on puncture? puncture doesn't need to attack faster, it isn't about "damage per second" its about getting that one crit and letting them bleed out, using tornado shot or whatever other skill for damage in between.

also a quick way to boost dps is to throw in a swap setup a curse on hit with lightning arrow/gmp/vulnerability/and pierce or chain/with an optional 6th link of projectile weakness (if you can use two curses).
