Hi,
thanks for the inspiration. I was planning another proliferation build and am now making a hybrid version of my original plan and you build. I' only lvl 33 - but it starts being fun burning them to death. :) One question: I know increased elemental/fire damage nodes are especially great for us because they boost the initial hit as well as the burning damage. Is that also true for the "elemental damage with weapons" skillpoints such as Catalyse? Will the double dip work with those nodes or is the burning caused by Herald of Ash not considered weapon damage? Online delenda est:

" Yes, ele dmg with weapon will work. I have found the phys damage nodes to be much better than the fire/ele damage nodes though, except for the burning damage nodes. |

Great build idea.
I am currently using it (with poor gear) and I really enjoy it. I just facetanked merciless Brutus thanks to the life leech gem ^^. The only problem is : partying with people makes you useless... |

" Thanks for the answer. I guess we'll have to decide the effectiveness of the nodes case by case. I can pick up Catalyse and one of its neighbours in my plan for 2 points - 32%, that's 16% per point. For my build this will make it equal to an 11% physical node for the initial hit. Not stellar but the full 16% bonus will apply to the burn - a physical damage node won't do that. Very nice build, and congrats on the build of the week!
How does this build fare against single strong monsters? It's not always possible to hit weak monsters next to it, so was wondering how it works in that case. Let's say a rogue exile that's chasing you or something. |

I just thought of something:
Since you're using Pyre, how about instead of Molten Strike, you use Glacial Hammer? You'll get slightly stronger initial hits, but no fireballs. (which you shouldn't care about anyway). As for strong bosses and single targets, my suggestion is to create a second link. Maybe Molten Strike-Fire penetration-Multistrike-Concentrated Effect? That's what I did with my (proper) Glacial Hammer build, and having an AOE and single-target link works pretty well. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo

" Molten strike absolutely destroys exiles and map bosses. I'm running quite a bit different build passive nodes wise, but the idea is the same and I'm 2 shotting exiles. I have a few videos on youtube, pm me if you want to see it in action. I don't want to post them in this thread. |

I got a few questions about your build, how did you take on Dom with this kind of build.
You have to move a exploding minion over to him to cause the burn, umm tryed this tactic took over 20mins to kill him and alot of zone refreshes. I like how GGG have let melee able to prolif but it still needs alot work to make it end game. Another boss you have trouble with is in the docks this boss can still burn you quick with 85/90% capped fire resist, moving a mob to cause the burn = death. It seems it just gets worse when you move into maps, alot of bosses are not going to give you time to move mobs for a burn. Using a slow 2handed weapon makes this build even harder to survive and is why I dumped Criss first build of molten strike the game just dont suit slow 1handed or 2handed weapons till very late game. I also had trouble with the way melee targets mobs, you really want to target the lowest health monster for this to work and kill it quick, but what I have found is it dont matter what you do to target a single mob as a melee you seem to take a swipe at all monsters that surround you making that low health monster harder to kill quick for the burn.
