Mine laying not working correctly - running to mouse location instead of laying them at the feet
Cant you add a option to the game where i can choose how to place my mines?
If im playing 8 hours straight and i need to hold down shift for each mine i place its gonna cause me alot of pain. This might sound silly but its really a big issue and i think alot of people will agree with me. Just add an option to be able to choose between the new mechanic and the old one... EDIT: I dont understand, youre saying you wanted to improve mineplacement. Most of the people playing mines are standing still, droping mines at their feet and detonating. Just like a caster standing still and shoting fireballs. If you made all caster have to hold shift for each fireball they shot im sure you would get shouted at big time. Sure, occasionally you want to place som ninja mine and maybe this change made it easier for some people. But the price of having to hold shift down 85% of the time is just too high, and i hope you can realize this too. I will have to try a scriptkid solotion and bind my "w" (minebutton) to "shift+w". I suppose itll make chatting look rather stupid. IGN: COCBOYbEaUtY Last edited by DARKFVADER#1305 on Dec 20, 2014, 5:57:01 AM

Mine builds are fucked. Holding shift 24/7 is no fun (actually its unplayable). GGG killed remote mine. A shame.

Just picked up a smoke mine.
Used it. Dropped it again. Pretty simple stuff GGG, reverse what shift does. Make holding shift move you to target location instead of the opposite. |
|
" But then it would be performing the opposite to how it performs for virtually every other skill... Computer specifications:
Windows 10 Pro x64 | AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero (WiFi) Motherboard | 16GB 3600MHz RAM | MSI Geforce 1070Ti Gamer | Corsair AX 760watt PSU | Samsung 860 Pro 512GB SSD & WD Black FZEX HDD |
|
" So shooting of a fireball makes you move to target (cursor) location and then fire the spell ? Think not. |
|
" Shooting a fireball at a monster makes you move to a location from where you can hit that monster. Holding shift while shooting a fireball makes you stand in place while shooting the fireball. I agree that the mine change makes them more consistent with other spells and attacks. But I also agree that it makes them not really viable anymore, because holding the shift key is very difficult in hectic combat. I just stopped using mines. |

Thats true. If you dont have LOS and aiming at the monster.
I still call this a bug. If not the gem itself, the bug is at GGG's HQ. Last edited by Fuglen#2616 on Jan 14, 2015, 7:54:41 AM

Been playing a trapper before... Came back to PoE after the recent patch and found out that mines are just horrible now (not the effect, but the way you have to use them).
Why wont they make, like someone mentioned here before, an option to choose how I want to use my mines? Now to use mines more efficiently I have to bind Direct Move on Mouse 1, as when I want to use a mine I always have to hold Shift, and guess what happens when I hold Shift while running with anything else then Move on Mouse 1? Right, I loose a lot of time for animation of some cast or attack.... |

Just like Mike_GGG said
" According to this, skills like Novas, Warcries, Summon Raging Spirit, Ground Slam and other skills that are NOT buffs should be cast in the same manner for consistency and more precise control. They should still be usable on spot while holding Shift. |

Play PoE for a few mounth (on Garena).
Now trying to build trapper/minner. It's really fun playing this way! But holding "shift" very annoying! Tried AutoHotKey to solwe, but it's not handling "hold w" (takes some time to start repeating)... Please fix that! Or maybe advice me something to get round damned "shift") |
