Cherrubim's Maleficence - Supporter's Unique Item Craft Retrospective

I think the armour is kind of meh for many reasons, I do like this armour and its looks so its bit sad that I cant use it as there are other armours that are great like lightning coil, kaom's heart, belly of the beast and carcass jack.

I guess the biggest criticism is that its easy to get 20% dmg for chaos related stuff, since chaos attacks aren't just chaos but spell, attack, aoe, or projectile.

Also life leech rate is kind of meh as for now game is more about how much life leech % you can get and using VP or Atziri's acuity to ignore the life leech rate, even then you can just pick life gain on hit gem if needed.

Overall I think this armour now with scion berserker node became even more useless.

I dont understand how GGG can let things like lightning coil, heretic's veil, varunastra go through while supporter uniques for the most part are "meh" gears. Not all ofc as I do love hyaon's fury and saffel's frame.

I think because there's less they feel comfortable doing to Supporter Uniques once they're released. If they screw up their own gear they can tweak it as much as they need, but nerfing or making significant changers to supporter stuff is a whole other issue since if they do it without permission they'll end up pissing various people off.

So, I think they tend to the "Safer" end of the power spectrum when it comes to supporter gear.

Just my theory of course.

Lightning Coil is a supporter Unique. Lots of supporter uniques have been so good they were put in the nerf crosshairs before or are currently.

Examples of other supporter uniques you may not realize because the creators don't post often or their story isn't known: Mjölner, Voltaxic Rift, Bino's Kitchen Knife, Carcass Jack, Alpha's Howl, Devoto's Devotion, Void Battery, Aegis Aurora, Marohi Erqi, The Blood Dance, and Darkray Vectors.

I think GGG tend to go more toward the leveling gear actually.

Huh, I stand corrected~ I only knew a few of those were supporter Uniques.

Part of it is also that some Supporters aren't aiming for top-tier BiS when they make their item, they just aim for something they're really happy with, with little regard (Or knowledge) for if existing Uniques will be better suited for the role.

And because I haven't said it yet: I love the design of this Unique. Very clear what them you wanted, it fits and is gorgeous and If Chaos damage doesn't get totally trashed with Prophecy launch I'm definitely going to make a Chaos themed character.

Hi I didn't say they are all junk, I am well aware those are supporter uniques, I wasnt sure about coil though.

Also to note that this armour is not lvling unique and don't have much of strong features, life leech rate imo can easily be over ridden by acuity and VP, 20% chaos dmg is very weak.

So I think this unique is more or less MTX thing to look cool because 90 life cant compete with other uniques like belly or kaom's.

So I must say I agree more with Zephyril on this one that they didnt want to risk "OP UNIQUES" and went with more safer route which made the item mediocre at most.

I dont think so because I have talked to some supporters and they say that GGG puts restriction on what they can have or not.

I think for this case, when we look at the post we can definately see that, because noacuckroach is very well informed player.

I think after all the OP uniques I just think GGG became more strict with the design of supporter uniques, that is my opinion and thought on it.

When this was added to the game Acquity was worth well over 100 exalts and Vaal Pact was a major pain in the ass to get. I assure you the life leech rate and HP were legit. There was no chaos damage. Viper Strike and Poison arrow were terrible. Kaom's wasn't really competition. Yup a massive 400 more life but a huge downside and very difficult to get.

Where this armor didn't become popular was that its big deal was chaos damage and leech. Well those two things hardly interacted. The only way to MAYBE get some mileage out of Poison Arrow was to throw it in a trap nullifying leech and really making Carcass Jack a better choice. I couldn't make a hipster build if I tried.

Now 20% chaos damage is absolutely nothing. This would have to have 120% to get people thinking.

Don't care. I have been in love with this thing forever.

You liking the item won't kill the fact that is very mediocre, sure I like it too, that is why I think chaos dmg should be a lot higher or have something else. Also for PA or CA now, is better with Carcass Jack.

I just wish it had more dmg output than carcass or other gears like daresso's that gives boost to dps.
