Rampage and Beyond Challenges and their Prizes
" Some people can get a character to 65 within a day. In hardcore leagues. You have nearly 2 weeks per character and can do it all in softcore. |
|
All challenges looks pretty much doable for everybody but the question is are you fast enough
Also its really nice that you dont have to go big or go home, now you can go casual and still receive rewards Topkek

" Both are inexpensive. Besides, you get 24 character slots, which should be fine, and you don't have to keep the uniques for the challenge. Yes, tabs and character slots helps, but it's a convenience thing.
" Bino's knife alone is enough to say no on that one. Goddess is also very rare, though not so expensive. And we don't even know the rarity/price on a lot of the new ones yet. |
|
Speaking as a somewhat casual player, it looks like I can actually complete most of the challenges. I like it!
Also, I want to add that I hope the extra-dimensional demons aren't just Piety miscreant variations but making new models prolly takes some time. It would just be cooler if they were unique. Not sure if the demons have been teased anywhere yet. Last edited by weezamon#5686 on Aug 18, 2014, 5:02:09 AM

" Well, they are challenges, offered in the challenges leagues. If everyone could do them without any effort, they wouldn't be challenging. I might find 5/8 somewhat hard too, mostly because the leagues are only three months this time and I do have to work (and have other hobbies, too), but at least I stand a chance and have some control over reaching that goal. When the only MTX rewards were for the first 50 Atziri kills, I had no chance whatsoever (unless I paid someone).
" It's call challenge it's normal its not something you do in 1 hour .... Bino, u think ppl will drop all unique ? No it's a trade base challenge , getting lvl65 it's boring but easy an really fast everyone can do that , master lvl 8 how you know u can't ? Atziri it's depend ur build but normal Atziri lot of build can do it , or you can give a set to someone and come just before she die And you only need 5 challenge for the MTX if you want it you can get it . I think What you hope it's really easy challenge you can do really fast like reach lvl 60 with one char, clear 66 map....
uniq challenge again FailFish

Re: "Yawn repeating challenges"-type posts.
Imho, the autocomplete sorta ones like use currency and full clears are there to give newer players something to strive to and feel like they've accomplished something and are progressing. This is good, and makes 2/8 solid challenges to incorporate. While I personally prefer reach 90 in both leagues, getting each char class to 65 is another good challenge as far as accessibility and encouraging newer players to play more... AND btw, provides a way for players that don't actually like mapping but prefer testing builds or grinding Piety/Dom, to also grind out levelling up the Masters to level eight. So, that's two more challenges that help to grow the playerbase, which in turn provides feedback to GGG about what works and what doesn't. That's 4/8 for good challenges. Reach the rampage tiers: that's just plain fun. While it's not "new" in the sense of "let's have one challenge in each league,", c'mon, who ISN'T going to have fun getting that one? Further, it YET STILL encourages MORE gameplay. There's 5/8 good challenges and an MTX. Now some difficult ones, as there should be! "Kill these foes from Beyond" - Inventive? No. Is it going to be fun to discover all of them, to learn how to kill them and not RIP, and deliciously satisfying to finally beat them all? Hell yes. What's that btw? Another +1 to encouraging gameplay? Yep! 6/8 for good challenges. Now for the last two challenges. But wait a second, even if it's same sh**, different pile, 8/8 isn't supposed to be easy, is it? NOPE. Best way to make it difficult as sin? MAKE IT DIFFICULT AS SIN. "Kill these unique bosses" - This is probably the first one I'm not a huge fan of being repetitious. HOWEVER, LIKE I SAID, 8/8 shouldn't be easy. Spinner of False Hope, not easy. Atziri, not easy. Olmec, sure as butt not easy. Plus a whole bunch of new ones. I may not be a big fan of the repetition, but I'm sure as hell a fan of 8/8 not being a walk in the park. That's 7/8 for good challenges, even if it doesn't get marks for creativity. You're 7/8 GGG, so close! And GREAT JOB, for a lot of reasons! Then, there's this. "Own these unique items" - This, is easily the most contentious of the challenges. There are a lot of various arguments against it. Here's mine.
TL;DR: Trading to 8/8 goes against the notion of GAMEPLAY-based challenges, and seems just wrong
The challenge itself has virtually NOTHING to do with gameplay. It's not even, by definition, a challenge.
It's just item-ownership, pure and simple. And the rich vs poor side of it is NOT even my concern. Forget about all of that. It's the fact that this challenge RELIES on trading, or praying to ChrisNGesus. And those that push for the 8/8 challenge know this, and abuse it, by driving up the prices of these items in the marketplace even if the item itself isn't actually WORTH it. See Atziri's Disfavour as a prime example. Disregarding ENTIRELY the difficulty in obtaining it, but it was well over 300 ex before Ambush/Invasion ended, and IMMEDIATELY tanked in price by over 100ex after the merge. Ultimately, it's a challenge that, due to the nature of marketplaces, pushes its accessibility plain and simply out of reach for a the majority of the population. But further, and even more centrally: Creating a "challenge" that falls outside the realm of actual gameplay doesn't make sense. Pigeonholing the last challenge to either economists or straight up RNG is, simply, not a challenge. Above, I said that 8/8 should be extremely difficult to get. It should. But it should be difficult WITHIN THE CONFINES OF GAMEPLAY. Put me in a position to adjust my build in order to kill The Final Beyond Boss, great! Maybe I've never killed Olmec or Atziri before? AWESOME, time to go back to the drawing board and become a better player. But... ownership? Really? I'm not here to OWN the biggest, fastest car on the block, I'm not here to prove I can sit in trade all day. I'm here to play. THAT SAID I get trading is part of the game. And I also understand the reasoning behind putting this challenge in here in order to give a nudge to encourage it and participate in the economics of the game. SO, despite my rant, despite as much as I despise the feeling that I'm pushed to participate in it to go 8/8, you've made a GREAT adjustment this time around: Rewards for 5/8 -----AS WELL AS----- 8/8 (A bit begrudgingly), I give you props. Well done, overall. (*grumble grumble*) ;) Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Last edited by Serleth#4392 on Aug 18, 2014, 5:15:12 AM

I thought the prize for completing challenges would have been to choose a microtransaction effect within a prefixed point price. I'm pretty disappointed, and honestly that effects are reaaally awful.
