Lol at this. Not actually engaging in discussion, only pushing your own opinion. Toxic as toxic can be.

My stance is simply that giving tier 1 mods is cutting the fun of finding items (which is essentially what an rpg like this is about)

Maybe for the pve grind, but not for pvp. If pvp isn't about fair games then it has no appeal or long-term potential at all. We saw this first-hand with the tournament you yourself ran. Nearly all the matches I and others I talked to played were completely one-sided stomps, almost entirely due to gear quality differences. By the end a lot of people had dropped out because of what a waste of time that was. If you, as the person who started the tournament in the first place, are saying "yeah the pvp is about is mindlessly grinding for items" and not about actually playing pvp then there really is nothing else to say.

It's frustrating having a debate with you when you put words in my mouth. You say things that I didn't say or make meanings out of thing I say that I do not intend:

"
yeah the pvp is about is mindlessly grinding for items

If thats what you think Im saying in that paragraph, then you do not understand what I am saying. I never said this. You even put it in quotations, how ridiculous..

And again your not reading what im saying. the discussion is over. We both spoke our mind, said our thoughts and we are in disagreement. I think the vendor should not do tier 1 but rather tier 2 and 3 and you think he should do tier 1. End of dicussion. This is in GGG's hands now. Others are more than welcome to post here too giving their opinion. But I think ours has been made clear. And rest assured I know when to walk away from a debate without salty feelings towards someone. My opinion of any1 who disagrees with my thoughts on crafting tables giving tier 1, does not make me think less of them or hate them or anything. :P

You made yourself the "voice" and the pvp connection to GGG so when you post something that the majority of the community disagrees with we hope that they don't give your personal opinion consideration while overlooking others because they are unknowns. Seems pretty understandable why he's annoyed or "salty" about the matter.

The real issue your missing is T2 gear isn't competitive. It's T1 or don't bother. This gets exasperated even more with weapons.

Actually i dont know where you ger "majority".

Grindcore, john_nova and myself think the benches should not give t1.5 and you and mrenzyme think they should. So it seems we are divided atm.

Second, im only trying to help by giving my concern. I'm happyy no matter what happens and i know GGG does read this section so your comments are all read and are equally considered just like my posts here. Ggg decides in the end, especially when the stance on the change has our community is divided on the subject. Keep note that theres a lot of lurkers here who dont post. Ive had ppl on twitch chat saying they read my post and they agree. Its not like theres only 3 ppl who disagrees with t1 mods

ALRIGHT ill make sure I tell EVERYONE to come comment here because the community that I actively pvp with SC and HC (seeing as im the basically the only person that plays both atm) seems to all feel the same way I'll spread the word to all of them and encourage them to comment.
t1.5 is king, Lord for president.

(I think it's a bit silly giving feedback about stuff that's not yet confirmed ... whole t1.5 is a speculation based on a screenshot )

I will be glad if you can add t1, or t1.5 mods with bench crafting for LLD gear.
I'm with lordsidro on this one. T1.5 doesn't seem overboard to me, and the gear aspect of pvp is what turns so many new people off. I'm all for build customization being the deciding factor in lld pvp, and not how many et/ex you have to spend. This is LLD, if you want to flex your currency, move on to HLD where crafting benches likely still won't help you be competitive. I think that the difference between t2 or t1.5 mods might be negligible, and therefore, I'm all for T1.5 mods.
I am actually torn right now. Without knowing all the mods that can be rolled its really hard to decide if t1.5 (t1 outright is too much) is too high or about right.

The HC people know that I decided to actively enter the lld HC scene a 2-3 month ago. My gear is nowhere near the level of some of you (which is clear in some of the pvp match ups) and i've been really trying to acquire some better gear.

Now in the spoiler I've linked some of the better items that I have right now that are with less than 6 mods. As you can see none of those items with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions have 4 or more T1 rolls. Those items are the result of scouring poe.xyz on almost daily bases in the 1 month, the end of invasion and parts of the HC forums. There most probably are some better items on the 1 month forums than those but they are either out of my price range or owned by people that haven't logged in days or some cases even weeks, and the items will disappear in a remove-only tab when the 1 month ends.

Spoiler

I guess my point is that the above items might be considered mediocre or simply ok by people like grindcore that have a 6xT1 items for almost every slot and build, but those items weren't easy to get and that was without many people scouring the 1 month race, or poe.xyz in general. Good bases with 3-4T1 mods are already hard to find and require a decent amount of time investment. (Check 1 month league for 1 handers above 100pdps...there are close to none)

Lets say that after 1.2 another 100people join LLD in HC. How long will it take them to buy most of the decent and half decent items for sale? (I know that fightgarr shop is big but it ain't that big). After a (possible) high influx of player if you want to join LLD you'd have to go and farm for some items yourself because a lot more people will be trying to buy items from the forums and you wont be able to gear entire characters as easily in the future.

How many of you have those 4T1 or 5T1 mods items that are just waiting for a T1.5 mod to be added to them? I've barely seen any, let alone own them. The only people that I know have some of them are already people that spend a lot of time farming for gear like that.

I'm fairly certain that if I've been trying to get gear for months now and dont have "perfect" items for benchcrafting that newcomers wont have them either, so what if they can add a tier 2 or t 1.5 mod to an ok item. This will just make an ok or unusable item a good/great item and very rarely (if ever)an insane item.

I think lordsidro mentioned a few days ago that most of the really strong builds right now dont only rely on great items but great corrupted items. How many viable casters that arent using +1 tabula or items in general do you know? How many of the top melee builds arent using knock back immune on their boots?

Yes it sounds a bit worrying that suddenly everyone will have the same gear and most people will only be copying the top players but thats not going to happen (at least as fast as some of you fear) because there are only so many great items that just need that last mod.

Some Pros of more people having access to good gear:

1. More people to fight. Even on HC right now lld is semi dead because people are either in the 1 month or on vacation or even different time zones so I just miss them, or mapping and cant be bothered to switch for 1-2 duels.

2. More even matches. Right now people who have jsut started collecting gear I can beat by just holding right click in many cases. Thats not fun for them and not (as much) fun to me as if it was a close match where what you are doing actually matters.

TLDR: There arent that many 4-5T1 items that are ready for bench crafting. New players certainly wont have them becase I know how hard it is to get them and after months of trying I still barely have any of them (the ones that have 4T1+ mods are on 6 mod items so useless for bench crafting). T1.5 mods will just make a lot more of the mediocre items into good-great items but will rarely make them insane. And most of you are still forgetting that a lot of those items will need to be vaal orbed too to get a usefull mod too, so that alone will rip a bunch of the good items created through benches.

Sorry for the wall of text, I hope it makes sense and isn't just a pile of blah.

+1 Andkamen well said!
Here is a wonderful quote from Chris_GGG on the gamestop article that was published recently alongside the annoucnement of the loremaster.

"
Wilson stresses that this additional element of customization won't break the item system. "The mods you're adding aren't the largest in the game," he says, "but they're large enough to be impactful without ruining the expectations of those who want the best items to come through the random process."

This quote is exactly what I mean but for LLD. He points out that players don't have to worry about T1 but that the mods you get are still impactful. And those who want the best of the best, can still work for it and farm for it. It really sums up everything I stand for when it comes to the crafting, except I would like it to also apply to the ilvl 36 gear at the benches too.

Just thought I'd post that cause I thought it was worded nicely and represents my current opinion.

I'm an active low level dueler and to me you have to ask yourself, "does this help or hurt the community?" Should elite gear be reserved to only those who can either spend real money to obtain elite items or those who farm religiously for years to obtain the currency? Or should it be to those who get lucky exalt rolls? IMO, this ONLY helps the community from the bottom up. More, better gear = more, better duelers. Those who disagree likely have a personal agenda to remain the only users with that type of gear.
