Announcing the One-Month Leagues (and Ambush/Invasion Challenge Winners)

I believe the last 1 month charity event was HC so its only fair that it alternates between the difficulties and before someone says it im a HC player. I don't get what all the fuss is about I mean its only a 1 month league and its one that is also going to be very challenging at certain points in the month I personally think its a great decision that its not a HC league.

Like everything in poe the HC leagues take time to learn nemesis, onslaught, and invasion all take time to adapt to imagine never playing any of them and then all of the sudden you have to deal with multiple of them at the same time thats a brutal learning curve, now dont get me wrong im not saying those players can't adapt im simply stating it would be tough for anyone to learn all of those new mechanics at once. I'm not sure about the other HC players but I personally played through the game and did maps before I even made my first HC character because you quickly learn how brutal the game can be when you don't know or fully understand the mechanics of the game.

Hi Michael,

Are any of the devs currently tracking this issue? Or is this matter just "forum noise?"

I'm only asking for the sake of my soul, which is currently draining for my body. (I've posted two messages in favor of a HC version, with zero animosity towards any SC players.)

Thanks

It's currently after-hours here so it's more likely the developers will be reading the thread tomorrow.

I can appreciate that, but at the same time I think going full swing in the opposite direction just highlights the problem and doesn't really address it - A consistent pairing of event leagues both standard and hardcore would be the ultimate solution, I think most of the players would agree with that sentiment irrespective of their preferred league.

My speculation here is that it's partly due to the time required to design and balance two one-month leagues over just one (time that could be used for the actual new leagues in August) especially considering the care that's required to make something actually fun and worthy for hardcore, rather than just frustrating.

I can't speak for the design team, but it's perhaps worth thinking of the one-month league as more of a complimentary entree leading up to the new Hardcore and Standard leagues in August, please don't mistake it for the main meal. Additionally, as others have pointed out prior special events have been done for Hardcore in the past.

Not really actually. The two-week Ambush/Invasion league rolled to Invasion (which was a challenge league at that time) and you could only rip to Standard, which was totally uninteresting for any Ambush player.

Ahhh but at that time the 4months were still going on, and the race itself was a "Ambush/Invasion" event, or specifically a 4month event. Now that were not between leagues the principles of being able to roll a HC char over to SC apply even more so.

The idea is that HC gives you the freedom to choose whether your in HC or SC, since these are permanent leagues we are talking about in the end (I believe the 4months are mainly for testing core concepts?)

It's hard to compare the charity race directly, after all this league is going to contain elements from a year ago, rolling it over to a 4month would create an interesting economy for certain.

What I really think should be done is make all created characters start with a 0 deaths flag, at the end of the league the players that still have that 0 death flag can be migrated to the HC server
trying to be really optimistic here !

i think they are just discussing over the next step to take and their answer to this , it is a pretty important thing and i hope they come up with a right answer but wow really.. if they dont answer at all not giving two shits lol bye bye community , they just dig their grave deeper
Awesome. I will surely have fun with invaders and exiles. :)

I second the need for a hardcore version. A lot of the playerbase only plays hardcore and will simply wait for the 4 month league if it's a softcore race.

And a lot MORE only play SC.

So what you are really saying is, for every race event (which are normally HC) there should also be a SC version?
Casually casual.

Realy????

Wtf, why just sc... Realy sad!!!

Im out... I wait so Long for a New Hardcore League and then this...

Im crying
Make separate HC League, we do not want anybody to infringe give us a choice!!

I'm sure that the hardcore players are fine with the currently set league; the fact that it's softcore is what bugs us.

All we're asking is for two of the same league; really.

If no other leagues are occurring during that time then yes.

Hey Michael, thanks for the responses. I at least appreciate them :) People just want to enjoy the game in their preferred mode. I hope the complaints have emphasized how passionate some players are to play PoE in a HC setting. It's simply a win-win for everyone involved if there is two separate leagues like always.

Previous mode specific races happened during normal league times. This is a special case where no other league is happening so people will take a break unless they can play their preferred mode.
