GGG input and communication

Tempallo, one post per thread complaining is generally considered enough. If no one in the thread seems to be listening to you, what makes you think they'll listen if you say it again? I wanted to address an issue. YOU ARE NOT HELPING.

Also NefariousJosh, throwing around insults is not considered winning an argument. It's considered fairly immature in the world of adults. Use your words.
I was going to PM this to Rhys, but why not here.

BUILD DIVERSITY

The strength of puncture as a skill is nothing to scoff at, and borderlines, if not already is, overpowered.

Traps reliance on clever construction. Maybe add trap life like minion life and add trap life on certain trap passives? Would help against melee, and help trap based characters not be mainly shadows.

Imbalance between 1v1s and 3v3s. The damage outputs are ridiculous and create games which aren't as entertaining to play or watch. Any build that uses a DoT effect is immediately phased out.

Hard counters in PvP (such as the role CI plays against chaos, and the existence of resolute techniques to completely crush any evasion build). For this, I expect actually 1+ years time of effort to properly deal with this in an intuitive manner. Even that might be a little quick.

Leap slam. Oh god is this useless. But not because of the skill itself. Because it triggers traps midair (???). Fixing this would increase the use of leap slam, and at the same time, weapons that don't use whirling blades.

Gems required level 31 able to be used in LLD (not every single one, just ones that might help build diversity such as spell totem and the like).

The absurd investments to play any ability that scales off of skill levels. Empowers/+1 corrupt are all extremely hard to get, and limit players by a ridiculous amount. It discourages experimentation due to costs, and locks players into 1 build if they are not particularly rich. For people who do not understand this requirement for those abilities, when they try them out and see its failure to do well under any condition, this problem may discourage them from continuing to try to play PvP. Not only that, but it is my opinion that LLD is for players who do not wish to dump absurd amounts of time and money leveling and creating characters. God I hate corrupting for +1 all gems.

Legacy items. Season uniques. God why. It's fine for now, and perhaps community members will address this themselves, but keep in mind you may want to exclude these for future tournaments to keep them fair.

I'm sure I can find more things to add on, but this is enough for me for now. A lot of these complaints also mirror a few of the concerns of MrEnzyme.

Thanks for nothing. Literally

Yea, we're all deeply sorry that they develomented a functional Action RPG game over the course of 8 years while maintaining it within the realms of the Free to Play model. And we're deeply sorry that GGG yet have the guts to focus more on the PvE aspect of the game, taking up - and listen to - community ideas, releasing huge patches with a shitstrom of content, fucking run charity promotions (ʰᵒʷ ᵈᵃʳᵉ ᵗʰᵉʸ ʰᵉᶫᵖ ᵗʰᵒˢᵉ ᶦᶰ ᶰᵉᵉᵈ, ᵗʰᵉ ᵐᵒᶰᵉʸ ᶜᵒᵘᶫᵈ ᵇᵉ ˢᵖᵉᶰᵗ ᵒᶰ ᴾᵛᴾ!) and maintaining the game free for everyone instead of focus on what it's all about, PVP OOH!

It's 2014 and GGG still doesn't know where ALL of their effort and time should be spent, I feel for you. Thanks for nothing GGG...

By the way, I also had some really big urge to suddenly report all of your posts in this thread. So I did.
Really, none of the flaws matter except for the gear barrier thing. There's maybe 5 people in Standard with good enough gear to even play pvp; everyone else gets stomped regardless of skill level because the quality of their gear isn't high enough, and the situation seems exactly the same on hardcore. If someone wants to get into PvP right now, it's actually impossible for them to play. They have to spend months doing something else (grinding for items) before they even get to try out the real PvP.

If people want PvP to grow, the gear barrier needs to be removed or marginalized. Fixing all of the other stuff doesn't matter if there's only like 5 people that even have the gear to play.

this is what i used to think when i started pvping, and in part its true. but gear isnt all.
my gear on my actual pvp that im using now doesnt cost more than 30-40 exalted, and 10 of this are for the amulet and other 20 for helmet, chest is 5L.
so as you can see its very possible to pvp with low budget, you just need to have lot of knowledge. if you dont believe you can challenge me. its not a e-penis enlargment, i just wanna proof that this is possible.

If you don't have extremely good/perfect gear you simply can't compete with people who do. This is true in low level pvp and I'm sure it's even more true in high level, though I don't play that. Getting this kind of gear (rare top tier phys weapons, +1 corrupted items) takes months for people starting out. If we want new people to get into PvP, they have to be able to actually play it, and currently they can't. This means massively reducing this barrier to entry, because if it stays this way PvP is going to remain a handful of people who get to play, and everyone else is just locked out.

i think our pvp community is wonderful especially the hld :)

I believe if anything 3v3 has the best potential.
-It requires a team effort.
-Isn't as broken as 1v1 in terms of who has more exalts to spend on gear.
-Allows for much much better build diversities/synergies.
-Generally more fun because rounds last longer.

Yep. The gear problem is less noticeable in teams.
