[Official] WINE info thread
" Thanks --nosync takes more time to load, but really smooth in battle. i7 760gtx (best fans and copper, i live in florida) 16gig kingston hyperx ssd I had some ground effects in a breach, much less dipping. Thanks again Btw, the latest staging upgrades are working great for me. 2.4 staging, make sure you check box csmt in the wine staging tab to use your whole comp, otherwise feels like softrender. It will create a new tab if you havent used staging before. Also use opengl Direct Draw renderer (display tab in playonlinux), glsl support disabled Last edited by Chadwixx#5277 on Mar 29, 2017, 3:42:59 AM

Did my zana daily, dipped to 32 fps on a frozen nova boss. Ground effects were bringing me down to like 2-6 fps before. When you get your mem leak thing in HO, goto town, it will take 10-20secs to load, but fps will be back to norm without having to reboot. Last edited by Chadwixx#5277 on Mar 29, 2017, 4:05:47 AM

Any using wine staging from within POL ? I just had to reinstall my whole system today, ssd failed over night. no recent backups.
POL doesn't want to let me run the game on any version of wine, other then "system". " However I can install wine{-staging} from my package manager to make it "system" in pol and it works fine. I've also noticed that when selecting a version of wine other then "system" when I click on "configure wine" the wine window won't load! Like I said game runs fine on System (wine{-staging}), it just needs system in POL. Also when did we get the DX9ex version of the game? I've only ever known us to beable to use DX9 |

Ya, dx9ex has been working since 2.4 for me.
Here are my setting in game Here are my settings in Play on Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVAlpqllyos&feature=youtu.be |

Oops, it was set to private, should work now.
I just turned off multithreading and it was the roughly same, ill play more tonight to see if the mem leak thing goes away. The biggest thing for me was the CSMT in the wine staging tab (it like turns on your video card). Its not as good as windows, but with the --noasync i can do beyond maps without dipping to 2 fps now. Beyond and fire ground is still bad though, but i think thats for everyone Last edited by Chadwixx#5277 on Mar 29, 2017, 7:26:58 PM

Looks like its running good, cold breaches are very tough. Saw a dip but it didnt last.

So what's the general consensus of getting rid of stuttering now?
Game runs fine on my laptop with ~80-100 fps but it just stutters from time to time. |
|
I've removed pretty much all of it as you can see in the video, however I'm using realtime kernel now and galluim nine patched wine staging. And I have a pretty beefy computer to start with.
