Anyone know why I'm getting low FPS? (1-20 usually)
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB Even with lowest graphics settings I max at like 25 FPS, though my GPU isn't getting pushed, I have plenty of RAM unused, and only at 50% total CPU usage throughout my entire system. El Psy Congroo.

this may sound really stupid... but what is WINE?
PoE Caster hopeful!

" Wine is a program used to open Windows based apps on a Mac. I love lamp

Lol, I thought this was going to be a thread about whining and complaining.
Dedicated CBT for PoE. (I genuinely care about the success of GGG and PoE.)

I cannot install Path of Exile with the given directions and your patched version.
Note that i used a fresh install of wine without any config files present; that's why it creates the .wine directory. The GUI exits with a "Setup ended prematurely" error. Doesn't seem to be a rights problem, as running it as root for testing purposes also doesn't do any good. I'm running Arch Linux, with xfce4 as my window manager. Kernel 3.0, X.org 11, NVIDIA (binary) 280.13. Any hints? This is the whole output of the installer being run in terminal: " **EDIT: I finally managed to install and play PoE with the patched version of WINE in this thread. I had to install it by running this command: " twice! First time, installation fails with "Setup ended prematurely" for me. Second time, it installs successfully when I choose "Repair Installation". Running Client.exe only works with an emulated desktop (see winecfg). I think it's also worth noting that "Allocating Space" has took like one and a half hour for me. This duration was significantly shorter on my Win7 Install of PoE. At least I now got a playable game on linux! It currently works flawlessly after installation. Graphics being set on lowest possible settings, I get a frame rate of 40-50 per second (NVIDIA 9600GT), but there are still some drops to 6-10 fps when I cast a previously unused spell or meet a new huge group of monsters. However, WINE still throws some "fixme"s and stuff to shell: " I hope my struggle will help fellow testers with similar problems ;) Last edited by puck on Sep 27, 2011, 9:30:24 PM

" More generally its for Unix-like operating systems, so Linux as well :) Btw thank you OP for the contribution! | |
FIXMEs are not worth mentioning, they don't affect anything in-game.
Please note that if I see someone asking for help I WILL help if I can. So if I don't reply, it's probably because I have no idea what your issue is. Also, I haven't used anything mac-related in about 10 years, so don't bother asking me for help with playing on one. |

i approve of this. i will try it without the patch first. is your patch going into wine upstream and if not, why?
