While I appreciate the detailed explanation of your goals for the new skill, they could have been achieved with changes to smoke mine instead. You essentially broke the skill for summoners and now you keep them waiting for weeks until you implement a new skill that does basically the same thing but with a cooldown.
The regen is nice but not needed and by the looks of it you are happy with the "recall minion to shield yourself" tactic - which is good, the game desperately needs more tactics rather than facetanking - then why not simply put a CD on smoke mine in the first place? Only summoners used it anyway afaik and that already before Atziri was in the game or Evas became the thing to run with, although after using it on my summoner I can see a few cases where it would have been handy on other toons - for example to have a safe way to escape Dominus' groundslam because smoke mine doesn't desync like other movement skills do and it's instant. A cooldown wouldn't have hampered that usage. I think it's nice to have skills that are useful across several builds as it encourages creative thinking. After the change you'll have smoke mine that hardly anyone uses and the new skill that only summoners will use (mandatory as long as minions get stuck on terrain). Shop closed until further notice. Very useful skill from the sound of it. I don't run any minions, or charges, because I obviously fail horribly. But if I did I would definitely use that skill.
I was really hoping that ball lightning was THE skill being worked on for this update. Since it was the one being worked on for like the last 2 updates as well. I assume it will just fly out normally, but maybe you are gonna make it bounce like a rubber ball, or ricochet around like a pinball. Maybe it will have attractive or repulsive properties, or fly out a short distance and then explode into like 6 arcs through enemies. Or maybe not. Maybe it won't be cool at all Q_Q |

" smoke mine was a collateral Evangelists that you could always have on you (and run away if needed) made Atziri fight a joke. smoke mine effectively anchored them on you. but it were the evangelists that were the problem dominating blow characters that needed smoke mine to keep their horde together instead of wandering all over the place were hurt much more than non-abusing summoners.. |

What i dont understand is why not wait til the skill was ready then change smoke mine. Give us a heads up it is going to change, but make the transition smoother.

Please GGG don t listen people that whine about smoke mine being nerfed. Smoke mine is clearly not a must have for a summoner build. If you listen to these players, next time they will fail on their build, or on a slightly more difficuly challenge, they might whine until you "fix" their build (but that is player's job to fix their build) Playing mostly summoner since open beta and you re doing a great job on it every patch. 8 sec CD is too long, in a game with one-shot mechanics on bosses it is the same as not having the skill at all, as it will always be on CD when it counts.
