Space's CoC Windripper Build (2 Million dps!?) Build Of The Week #7 [now w/ 1.2 tree]
Well, if you're not using the physical damage, then the only thing that changes with level is the mana cost. You could even keep it at level 1.
Note though that the quality improves it, so one should either buy a 1/20 one or get barrage to level 20 and then use the vendor recipe that makes it 1/20. |

" I was thinking about Point blank too, since i`m farming dominus and killing him at melee range it will be interesting... |

yes I also find it very effective against bosses. on single mob group, can change, they die very quickly anyway

Hello,
Have you considered replacing arc in your 6L by the new skill "flame surge", do you think it would work? Thanks |
|
I dont have a high lvl flame surge to test , but if anyone else does and can report back I'm very curious to hear how well it works. It has good dps numbers - but I dont think it benefits from GMP so it might not e ideal.

The good and bad to Flame Surge: Anger aura or any fire damage on gear = everything you crit is always on fire for the permanent ignite bonus; not being a projectile means it does full damage, and it's safe from off-screen reflects due to having such a small range. Having said that, you would want a completely different set up. Maybe with Point Blank and Glacial Cascade? (I know Point Blank only applies to your bow attacks, but with Leech, I just face-tanked some map bosses I wasn't able to before.) This makes for an amazing single target attack but not so much for pack clearing.
A better combo would be the old Lightning Arrow + GMP + Chain + Cold Snap. If you can sustain the Power Charges and mana, you don't even have to aim. One click shock stacks, freeze locks and/or blows up everything on the screen, even around corners and shit. Good times. Last edited by feyith#0081 on Jun 17, 2014, 8:48:55 PM

I turned my boring EK caster I use to MF with a ripper based on your build and it is so much fun man nice work! I will have to re do my tree when we get a reset but for now its enough to do 71 maps even though my double andi rings kill my resists. I have a quick question. Have you tested picking up spell damage nodes instead of some others? Or is it just not worth it since the crits outweight the spell damage?

I'm curious.. why Doryani invitation for cold dmg? and not lightning dmg to further enhance the shock damage? And would you go for doom cast for that 60% chance spell crit?

As i read through the responses on this thread, i noticed quite a few people recommending to switch over to this build at either 66 when you can use Windripper or earlier on in the mid 50s with a quill rain. I spent approximately 10 regret orbs or so on my failed lvl 40 shadow to re-build his passives into this build. After that i tried to use my 5L Quill Rain with a Voll's Protector armor and it worked perfectly. I was too OP then and i still am at lvl 74. What i am trying to say is that if you have 1-2 chaos orbs you can easily afford a Voll's Protector (if you already don't have one) and a 5L Quill Rain is approximately 3 Exalts in Standard league. This setup of 5L Quill rain and a Voll's protector will easily get you to maps in no time. Therefore, this build can be switched to as early as lvl 35-40, usually end of act 3 in normal difficulty for most people.
P.S-It doesn't matter whether the Voll's Protector is 5L or the Quill Rain is 5L. As long as one of them is 5L you're good to go but Thief's Torment really does become a requirement with a Quill Rain so this build could be made with much less currency than Space spent by using a Windripper and a 6L armor. DPS is nowhere near as OP but still makes gameplay far more easier than most of the builds i ever played. My gear for my current lvl 74 Shadow using this build is:
Gear
I realize i need to update my flasks but even with this set up i have no problem running maps and i barely ever use my mana flasks at all. If you use a Quill Rain with a Thief's Torment with this build you could easily replace the Mana flasks that i have with some resistance/jade/granite flasks. Have you contemplated making a guide for this build? As it is now it's mostly just a brag fest displaying your multi ex items and what not.
The bow can easily be replaced by a cheap bow like quill rain, lioneye or any rare bow with as high crit chance as possible. The chest can be replaced by a cheap 5L. Just drop arc gem. Rat's nest can be replaced by a cheap Starkonja helm. Rest of items can be filled by cheap rares. Reflects can be handled by activating vaal grace. |
