Here's one experienced player who will be very glad of checkpoints. No more "I've got this. Who needs a portal?!? ... Oh crap." Moments. I was expecting checkpoints to only be in place for the Normal difficulty, though this seems a pretty decent compromise not only to newer players but players suffering from unfortunate desyncs as well.
