" I think you misssssssunderstood, because you didn't actually read either of my posts nor comprehend them. Don't hate the player, hate the game. I'm not the one who created this "challenge" but decided to allow players to purchase kills (Grinding Gear Games) and I'm not the person who sold kills thus enabling people to obtain the positions without lifting a finger. (Kill Sellers) But, please keep directing the hate towards everyone except those who actually created the issue in the first place. No matter what, literally no matter what, the kills would have been bought. The two things that could have prevented this are 1. GGG not purposely creating something "Limited Edition" for a "Contest" but deciding that players that did no actual fighting should be able to achieve it. 2. All the people who got kills not selling them. Which, in the end, is just a matter of time, because someone WILL sell a service if a service exists to be sold. " Its not cheating if the organizers of the competition allow it. And in this case GGG allowed circumventing the difficulty by buying the kills. Those who bought the kills sure are not moral winners of the year, but they did nothing wrong. Its GGG who failed miserably. When night falls

" Grinding Gear games farted into the mouth of a Kill seller, the kill seller farted and I gave them some exalts to inhale their fart from the comfort of my grace period. Right now everyone is only blaming the final link of the human centipede for defecating. " This is the reality of the situation. Much as i and others may find the act of purchasing (or selling) contest wins unsavory, the players who did so obviously didnt agree (or chose to take the low road in what they knew would turn into a losing prisoners dilemna; someone was going to start buying/selling wins, so they might as well get there first), and they were well within the rules of the contest to do as they did. GGG (mis)designed the contest and is entirely to blame for the resulting mess. IGN: KoTao

" Please, exploiting a whole in the system and going against what common sense tells you is a competition doesn't make you the good guy and GGG the bad. The fault is on three sides: GGG, the players that sold kills and the players that bought the kills. All three parties have to play into it. If one declines the whole thing doesn't happen. GGG already stated their fault and that they listened to the feedback to learn for the future. But the other two parties still seem to think everything they did is ok. And before you argue that this is a jealous comment: I don't care about the MTX at all. I would never buy an MTX in this game nor use it. However, I do care about a fair competition, doesn't matter if I contend myself or not. The thing is: Even if the host of the competition is trying his best to prevent cheating, people will still try to exploit every single whole possible. Honestly, this behavior is a bigger problem in this world than most people seem to comprehend. :( Last edited by fadekill#2729 on Mar 25, 2014, 5:17:12 AM

" They didn't try to prevent it though. They were 100% aware it would happen and still did nothing. And what kind of behavior is a problem in what world? It's a video game and no rules were broken. I don't see why the players who purchased kills are literally Hitler and the majority of the heat is on them, considering that due to the system the kills would have been purchased or given away to friends no matter what as the system currently stands. Honestly, they might as well not even award MTX to anyone and just hard reset the competition with some system in place to prevent such loopholes. GGG could strip credit from my account and I wouldn't even mind. The kills were actually insultingly cheap for something that is so "limited edition" and I hope nothing is like this in the future of this game. " Yes they didn't. It was an "even if" sentence. So even if they try to prevent it in future competitions, people will still try to cheat their way in. And why do you come up with Hitler? I would never call you that... My point was that people's behavior of exploiting every single whole in the system for their own benefit causes at least the majority of the grief in the entire world. I said nothing about the weight of consequences between different actions. Only that the core of the behavior is the very same. |
