Ya it feels cheap having people able to just buy in. Like others said a challenge is not a challenge if you can get the reward without actually completing the challenge.

I didn't mention Havoc6/HvR by name, you did that. Also, and in general, something isn't "slander" if it's true. This is just a continuation of what went down before, and of course people who have been playing for a while and who aren't completely blind know what's happening, regardless of specific individuals. It hardly matters to me that he in particular is doing it, or for your sake: whether he's doing it, or some other specific person. What matters to me is that it's happening and that it's tolerated and that it gets rewarded. That is why I don't normally discuss specific players, because it doesn't make a lick of a difference who is doing it.

I kind of feel bad for Chris, because he's damned no matter what he does (if he doesn't ban certain people, we get arguments like this one; if he does ban them, the other side will whine and demand 100% proof, which could never be posted to the forum for a multitude of reason), but then again, people did warn that RMT and win-selling would happen before this contest even started.

There is no way to prevent people from buying things with real money in games.
Even if you lock everything account bound like it sounds like d3 is doing you will just have people selling accounts.

GGG could have forced the kill to be solo by only having one portal open in the map room.
And if they did that you'd just have people rmting the gear and regrets to spec their chars into atziri killers.

As is, buying and selling kills is part of the competition.
Personally if mxt rewards are going to be tied to something like a boss kill I'd like to see them unlimited in quantity but character bound.
That way anyone could aim to get it eventually, but if your specific character couldn't do it you could also pay someone to carry.
Being able to sell carries could be the reward for being among the first to do it.

Selling boss kills has long been a part of this genre.
It's the fact that there is a limited quantity of the reward in this case that has people upset about it.
