Spell Totem and Ranged Attack totem now have multiplicative cast and attack speed penalties.

What does that mean in numbers???

if you had 80% cast speed bonus before you totem would have

(1.8-.3) = 1.5 50% cast speed bonus

now it will have

(1.8)*(1-.3) = 1.26 26% cast speed bonus

if you have 0% cast speed its exactly the same as before. So the more cast speed you have, the more this change affects you.

yay after 2 years I can finally remove --softwareaudio (hopefully)

good stuff I agree with most of these notes, a few I am a bit unsure of will have to see how the new things factor in but it looks pretty solid

one thing tho: you forgot to rework searing bond scaling (less dmg early more dmg later) but I assume that will make it in soon

also, to all the simple minds who see "nerf nerf" and feel sad, you have to look at these things in the bigger picture. yes certain things were op and needed toning down but you have to factor in how other changes (vaal gems, etc) will effect your character. for example the totem nerf is countered by the spell dmg buff and such, you will have to test these things out in real situations. when fb was nerfed everyone thought it would no longer be viable, but cwdt and other changes proved an overall slight buff. these things are not black and white. 2% armour aegis will be fine and give more incentive to getting armor, + you can now take vaal pact, and reworked marauder start, unarmed vaal cyclone? i could go on and on with synergies.

ggg realizes this obv but even so when you work as hard as they do and are excited about revealing your work and then see all the scrubwhine it can give a deflated feeling.

do what you think is right ggg, we are behind you.

Your statements are irrelevant.
-Summoners are in an increasingly bad place right now. Completely disregarding when they were considered "OP", every change to summoner has been an increasing nerf towards the playstyle alone, much less the build that they were defined upon.
-Auras were buffed but their price was far higher than the benefit they offered. Considering Summoners already had to traverse half the tree to pick up summoner nodes and another hefty investment for survivability alone, now summoners are forced to invest even more point into reservation nodes. Given the vast majority of the leveling process is survivability and direct summon utility, at what point does this build take off? 70? 80? That's already far into end game. Any build that takes that long to develop isn't worth the effort to even attempt to pull it off.

It's more than efficient enough atm.
So that basically means that it used to be OP if now is a bad place for summoners to you, right ? Well good thing it's not anymore ( I'm not actually quite sure about that, snapshotting can make summoners very very powerful, that should be fixed though ).

From my understanding, LL just got buffed.
Vaal Pact however got nerfed where it was mandatory ( but just nerfed, not ruined ), and buffed for life builds.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

maligaro's just changed from mandatory endgame gear, to mandatory leveling gear, it looks like. (could be wrong) if you need crit multiplier...facebreakers...

Facebrakers crit Multi confirmed to be nerfed in mini patch in next few hours. Double legacy facebrakers here it comes. GGG's Flying Circus.

Name one game that erases all characters every single patch or every single expansion? WoW has been around for 10 years without any wipe and people still have a chance of getting in it now and competing, that is because the endgame is always evolving. I don't know if PoE plans to do that, but we know that most of the competition in this game is in the temporary leagues and in the races. You seem to be worrier about competing with other players in the SC and HC leagues, but that barely happens there.

I like how neither of you actually respond to anything despite quoting me.

Vitruvia, I've never said anything about a wipe have I? And furthermore you bring in mix of games that do not do 'legacy' in any shape or form. I don't want to compete with other people either, what Im on about is every patch puts people in major disadvantage due the legacy system. Wich I understand perfectly and am a supporter of - But when at the same time they reduce the possibility to ever keep up with the growing prices by removing MF on ALL leagues, not just the new ones where the "competition is", as you would put it. I've no quarrel starting with any changes there since everyone starts with the same set. But why remove MF on the legacy league?

Except that's all on you, it's entirely your own fault that you feel inferior (or jealous?) in the perma-leagues. What do you want GGG to do here, really? Ban everyone who is richer and owns better gear than yourself?

There's no competition or ladder-climbing in the perma-leagues as there is in the temporary ones so there's really no need to feel inferior.

Try playing the game for fun once in a while.

You do realize that what Im on about isn't being inferior, poorer or richer. But to keep the playing field even on the legacy characters by keeping the stats same? Surelly if MF is the problem, its a problem far beyond fixing in legacy.

Unless ofcourse I've misunderstood and the MF changes only come in effect in the new 4 month leagues in wich case I don't give a rats ass.

Quite funny how the same whinefest happened last big patch ( when all dumb uniques where nerfed the same way). When Dom/Nem were launched, the amount of builds were immensely better than before.

So i'm pretty pleased to see all those tears, i hope the story repeats and we have a fresh game again :)

Well honestly i know it can be really bad for Standard players, but if you only rely on uniques like BoR to build your chars , then go play D3 and farm your legendaries here ( and don't take this as an insult , it's just how the games are)

PoE is about challenge and adaptation, and that's why the new leagues are always great , and why we play this game (well the non-crying part i guess)

Legacy items will never disappear and will continue to grow, if you dont like them, play the leagues!! it's what they are here for.

As always, great patch, looking forward to both leagues this time.
GG cant wait until tomorrow!
