Hey there,

Any macro that performs more than one action is bannable, as is anything that sends it based on a timer. It's fine to have a button that triggers a function like /oos, or casts an aura, but having a timer to repeat actions or text posts is not allowed.

Are streamers getting preferential treatment regarding this, or are you waiting to ban the lot of them in bulk?

I and my firends e-mail many times streamers that 100% use this type of macros with screens/videos/old broadcast/even in stream when they say its fine and allowed... and what? NO ONE OF THEM BANNED!
NO ONE.

UPD: But if you NOT a streamer - you will be banned for sure. In no time.
/thread

Clearly you need to become a popular streamer yourself so that you are also immune!

Maybe they don't waste time watching twitch?

That is utter bullshit Yeran.

Etup has the trade macro posted on his twitch page, which i know every single GM knows about. And he hasnt been banned.

So you either ban for it or you dont, but dont bullshit with threats u dont follow thru on

"Assuming" GGG considers this against the rules, they should inform the community and the streamers to stop doing it. If they don't then decide what action to take (a probation for 1st offense etc...)

Banning the popular streamers, for something that is quite "unclear" atm... is one of the stupidest ideas I keep reading about on the forums.

If ppl have something constructive to add to the conversation or game... go ahead. Saying absolutely dumb things, such as: ban the streamers, only makes said poster look like a selfish ass (at best) or a complete moron (at worst)

Not to pick stuff apart too much, but saying that something is bannable isn't quite the same as requiring banning for the action. It just provides notice that it could occur, and hopefully discourages the act.

Someone talked about police stuff... jaywalking is illegal. It's a slight nuisance to traffic, and poses a slight (but significant, should it actually occur) danger to the jaywalker. You could be arrested or cited for it in most places, but the odds of that actually happening are very, very slim.

That still doesn't mean you should do it.
Okay, now id like to know are ppl ACTUALLY getting banned for using it? Has anyone got banned for using it?
pvp loooooooool

Yes.
Not sure why people are jumping on Yuran. I believe he just reposted what Chris said months and months ago when this exact same question was asked, though not necessarily in reference to trade chat.

It's fine to have a button that causes /oos, or /remaining or casts an aura, but having a timer to repeat actions or a macro to cast all your auras is not allowed. This is because these are things that normal players cannot do, so they give advantages in terms of playing speed.

I haven't edited any posts in this thread but if you could please do so that'd be appreciated. Thanks, guys!

You can post screenshots and other evidence of players taking advantage of non acceptable third party programs and/or macros to support@GGG.

I'm sure GGG staff will be more than happy to enforce their rules without prejudice to all and sundry.
I still don't understand why GGG hasn't clarified the macro statement since it never made zero sense.

Chris said that
"

and further added the reasoning
"
This is because these are things that normal players cannot do, so they give advantages in terms of playing speed.

But why are /oos and similar macros allowed when the above statements without a doubt deny them? A player that doesn't have these macros cannot perform /oos with one action.
