Socket in Rings! Why not? GGG! :)

Btw, we don't have enough hotkeys for skills yet to use additional sockets. In d2 I had (and even used them all for necro) 16 hotkeys. Here we have 8 only.

8 hotkeys is more than the number of items that can be socketed. Let's see:

1: helmet (4L)
2: chest (6L)
3: boots (4L)
4: gloves (4L)
5: 1h weapon (3L)
6: shield or offhand weapon (3L)

So, if you use the maximum number of support gems and no auras, you'll have 6 active skills (5 if you're using a 2h weapon). That leaves 2-3 hotkeys for extra skills.

Personally, I like the idea of having 2 extra sockets in belts.
Shadow : Covenant Pulser (504561)
Ranger : 12 charges Frenzy Archer (65154), Dual Claws Elemental ST (709126)
Witch : Self-Cast Arc Tanky Witch (770185), AoF EK/Bear trap (863970)
Templar : Frenzy + AB/Fireball "Cast on Crit" Wander (611200)
Marauder : Death Oath Staff User (498864)

You can setup a whole other 8 skillset if you swap weapons, never tried it myself, but you could put all auras or things you use in special cases only on the 2nd set.

Hm, nice idea. I'll try it.

In other words, you have to use the maximum number of support gems and no auras. Pretty inconvenient for many, many builds.
Even now multiple auras leave you no choice but to cast them manually.

No you can't. Read this.
As they say, no response, no solution...

Yea, I tried yesterday, it doesn't work the way I had in mind.
Its better use with barehanded builds, as getting no weapon means no 4-5-6-link.
Bump.
I think it'd be a neat idea for a unique ring, it having 1 socket.
gratz to having your suggestion implemented
