Critical Chance question

Aha so reflect is basically the game telling me to limit my DPS and up my health? alright Ill keep that in mind, thanks everyone

But how exactly does the crit calculating system work? Sorry I just don't quite get it yet.

Weapon Critical Stikre Chance 25% increase

Weapon Critical Strike Chance 75% increase

Sounds like 100 pct crit rate to me, making me crit every hit

no, that adds to your base crit. Most spells and your default attack have a 5% chance to give a critical strike.

Any bonuses to that are added on like so: if you have a 5% chance to crit, with +20% chance to crit bonus, you will get a crit chance of 6% after the bonus is added.

It's multiplicative not additive, you can't just add crit chances on top of each other.

For example you've got 10% crit change then you are taking a node to increase crit chance by 50% and you end up having 15% crit chance, not 60%.

Ahhhh Thanks! so if daggers would have 60 pct crit rate, and I were to get 50% chance, that would result in 90% chance, correct?

Thanks everyone in this thread too, btw

alright, thanks
Also thare is a 90% crit chance cap. So if u get a high crit base wepon and take ALL the crit nodes and have crit on all gear u will only ever get to 90 % ( it's hell-a hard to do this however )

if u want a crit character aim for around 40 - 50 % TBH u will be lucky to get thare .
Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

I'll keep this in mind. Thanks
Think of it this way. A base 5% weapon or spell needs 2000% increased crit chance to become "100% chance to crit". And yes there is a crit cap -- but just think of things in that order. If you get 500% increased chance to crit, you're 25% there to the cap. Getting 500% increased chance is pretty ridiculously hard, so raising your implicit chance to crit on your weapon, or using a good base crit chance spell is important.

Does the 50% crit chance on daggers count as base percentage? or is that just another 50% that goes into that base 5%?
that counts as a bonus too, and does not add on as a flat rate.
